Que Trump congratulating Putin on a miraculous victory.
Has Trump congratulated him yet?
Kasparov is playing two-dimensional chess
He hasn't done any tweets in 10 hours. So in around 2 hours we'll see.
Nah that's too generous, at least wait until like 2am.
A cautionary tale.
I anticipate Russia releasing security footage of a "CIA" agent in a red, white, and blue suit commanding his bald eagle to drop a polonium-laced apple pie in Snowden's tea before running off to presumably to undermine manly Russian culture with homosexual propaganda.
Oh wow I just learned Russia has a two-round presidential election system that triggers if any candidate fails to get 50% of the vote lol, such an irrelevant facet of the system
Wow what a shocker, it's almost as if it's a sham or something.
It's so transparent too. Are Russians just super apathetic about all this?
Apathetic at best, actively digging their own grave at worst.
Nah, he did that in 2016.
Next year he's going to run for King of England.
Was going to go for China I heard, but they decided to just council elections entirely
More like can't really do anything about it without forming a truly united front since individual protests are either laughed off by "people" trained into what is essentially a cattle by years of power submission or especially dangerous ones are arrested on some bullshit charges.
And this isn't likely to change since while quality of life is shit it isn't on the level of total shit when people finally snap and do some civil unrest.
imagine my shock
Wow what a victory for the working class! I wonder what this means for the country? Will we see a reform of their neo-democracy and an age of reconstruction?
I can't believe it, I hope Papa Putin imposes some tough sanctions on the damn US though. Meddlin' in them elections is gonna catch up to them one of these days.
*Sarcasm*
Hey, at least we're getting that Leningrad song.
I’ve read that turnout was quite low, though.
It'll take a couple of years and a couple hundred million dollars to produce and it'll be about as convincing as these recent NUCLEAR POWERED SUPER GUIDED MISSILE, but eventually...
Most of the country grew up, lived as Soviets. IT's only been...what, 25, 30 years or so since the wall fell?
Give them time. The middle age, elderly in Russia grew up, lived in times where you didn't elect anyone at all, so it's perfectly normal to them to have sham elections and a leader that seems all powerful, who crushes opposition, et-al. There aren't enough young'ns who didn't grow up under that to make a difference. Itt'l change.....in 30, 40 years. Putin needs to retire/die off, and the bulk of Russia's population needs to have been born, grow up after the wall came down, before we'll see any real push for truly fair elections over there.
I don't think anyone questioned whether he's going to win or not. The only real question was is he going to win with 115% support or 130%
Didn't china just remove term limits, allowing their president to get elected over and over (effectively what Putin has done by playing the "I was president, but now I'm Prime Minister!!!" game)
I'm dead against what Russia and China govs are doing atm but don't misinterpret it, its a combination of rigged elections and no term limits which allow him to stay in power forever - Russia is already doing this.
They use a very ass pulled excuse of Navalny having an unexpired conviction.
I’ve read that turnout was quite low, though.
The turnout was just barely under that of 2008 Presidential elections when Medvedev 'won', which was the highest it's ever been IIRC. But then take into the consideration the fact that major part of the turnout was forced, bought (via different means like cheap or free shit for those voting, free transportation and various events) or otherwise... coerced. And even then, what happened wasn't elections, it was some kind of "administrative reappointment" in everything but name. Literally nothing of note happened on March 18th.
Vladimir Putin?
In my Kremlin?
It's more likely than you think!
Surprise Surprise
Vladimir is the Prize.
