• Axios: Trump is more interested in going after Amazon instead of Facebook

It seemed to be falling before Trump's comments even happened. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/240046/21594159-ab1d-44ca-a1f0-d816f18be12c/image.png Most articles that say a person's comment caused a company's stock to fall are completely innacurate. They're constantly rising and falling, 3% is a small drop when you look at it as a whole. correlation=/=causation kinda thing
3% over several hours is anything but inconsequential , are you kidding me
it's a reactionary change. over the space of the last five days the stock price dropped to the same point it supposedly did over Trump's comments two days before Trump even said anything https://i.imgur.com/rPAqB44.png
Most politicians can do that. Especially when they threaten to make it harder for that company to make money.
I can't remember anyone before trump being so heavy-handed with it
Isn't it kind of fucked that the WP is allowed to publish articles biased to and defending their parent company? I guess it's an opinion piece, but still, that seems like it should be an ethics violation.
So long as it's not being presented as news I can't see how it's ethically wrong. Elsewise you're basically saying 'people who work for a company are not allowed to make any public remarks about their company - ever'.
I knew that would be his reasoning before I even opened the thread. Facebook is a tool for him. But Amazon? They're a competitor, and that's a big no-no.
We also know he's really upset about the Washington Post, thanks again to the leaker mentioned previously. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/980065419632566272 This leaker also mentioned a report that the USPS loses ~$1.50 for each package delivered by Amazon.
To be fair, I'm not unsympathetic towards the USPS. I like having it around even in the age of Amazon, especially considering it's still an explicit public service whereas Amazon is ultimately a commercial entity, and I like Amazon. It's good to have a choice. Maybe we should put some of those trillions of war dollars towards keeping the USPS around?
Trump doesn't like the WaPo exposing his dirt, WaPo calls him on it. What did he think was gonna happen? https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-accuses-amazon-of-post-office-scam-falsely-says-the-post-is-its-lobbyist/2018/03/31/b9878164-34e2-11e8-94fa-32d48460b955_story.html It's also funny that he claims the WaPo should be a registered lobbyist for Amazon, considering how much underhanded shit he allegedly got involved with to rig the election and gaslight the country.

Hillary Clinton regularly attacked the pharmaceutical industry in the past, in one case sending stocks of pharmaceutical companies down up to 10% in a single day with one tweet.
at some point you wonder if amazon might try something bold like sue the government for defamation because what the government (trump) is saying is outright false and is incredibly damaging to their company
The USPS sustains itself on postage and other fees, as far as i'm aware. Amazon isn't killing it, but it IS killing stores that might set up shop in commercial real estate that his businesses own/operate.
