Fucking hell I don't know what's worse, knowing that it's slowly rumbling toward me like cancer, or the chance it might pop up on me like a severe stroke.
You do know that there is no EU regulation that prevents the UK having bendy bananas right?
Nice try REMOANER but I know which way the banana bends and it’s going straight out of the tyrannical EU!!
/s
How to effectively argue in favour of brexit: (based on a conversation I had with a family friend)
Regulations
1) Complain about regulations
2) Be asked which regulations you dislike
3) Complain about Bananas
4) Complain about Hoovers
5) Quickly switch topic
Immigration
1) Complain about immigrants
2) Be asked to specify which group
3) Indians and Pakistanis
4) Be informed that that is nothing to do with the EU
5) OK then! those poles sitting around collecting welfare
6) Be informed that we have a right to deport people who have no found work within 91 days but our government has chosen not to exercise those rights
7) Moan about Tony Blair (optional)
8) Switch to a different topic
Democracy
1) Complain that the EU is a dicatorship
2) Be informed that the EU parliament is elected by us, the EU council has our prime minister on it and the commission is voted on by our representative on the council. (in some ways more democratic than our own system where 2 or the 3 branches aren't done by election)
3) Complain about unelected figures in government
4) Be informed that all governments have unelected ministers and public services working for them
5) Moan about Junker (optional)
6) Switch to a different topic
Irish Border
1) Say the EU is going to build a wall
1a) Insert statement praising Trump (optional)
2) Be asked why the EU would want to build a wall
3) Reply that it is them who want us out
4) Be informed that it was infact britain where over 51% of the voting public supported some form of brexit.
5) State we don't need a border
6) Be informed that if we are to control immigration and customs we will need to have some sort of border
7) Propose having camera's on a soft border (quote boris johnson and the camden-westminster border)
8) Be asked how those cameras will see inside lorrys to check customs and the flow of goods
9) Propose they will be checked in the factory
10) Be asked who is going to pay to have inspectors in every factory
11) Reply: "I don't know ask the EU"
12) Propose Ireland rejoining UK as a viable solution
13) Consider this argument won and move to a different topic
If anybody else has any good guides on how to effective argue in favour of brexit please contribute, us brexiteers need all the help we can get!
Patriotic step: Finish any and all statements with "I wouldn't know anything about that, but this is our England!"
Final ultimate response: "Just have some faith, we won the WAR we can win this!"
Regulations
I believe most of the complaints are around the tariffs put on goods from outside the EU, not the individual regulations.
Immigration
Numbers are the issue at this point, not even the groups.
Democracy
It is who can only put forward laws and while governments have 'unelected ministers and public services', those can actually be changed via a vote by your own population, not determinate of other nations.
Irish Border
Honestly, no idea, there is no viable solution that I see at this current time.
That or he must be really big stupid British nationalist, clinging of fantasy version of British Empire.
Boilrig shows up again and he argues against the one point that isn't even directed at him specifically.
I'm kind of surprised but also kinda not.
wish the report button was still here, this is such a low effort post that doesn't even touch upon what the main post is talking about
How you go through the whole thread to ignore everything and do this repeatedly is really only explainable a few ways.
What I'm reading is a man pushing for something that there are unfinished plans for.
Good idea.
Can't do much about that, the border situation will have to be fixed with technology at this point, I don't see the UK pushing the border into the sea on account of the EU.
The entire 'British Empire' meme, is exactly that, a meme. Think of it like a translation for predicting a massive amount of soft power the UK is going to put on other nations now it is outside of the EU, especially in terms of trade, it is their world for the taking.
Of course you do.
youll bear no costs or losses from it so why not cheer like you have been disputing the reality of the situation.
Right, seeing as “duh Empire “ is just a meme, I’ll ask this in the most simple and inoffensive way possible:
How?
You're FUCKING HILARIOUSLY deluded if you actually thing Brexit will lead to a fucking increase in soft power now that it has less influence globally.
Me too because the way things appear to be going, the only thing that is going to save England is making it the 51st state of the US
If the EU was actually fast on its feet with trade deals I would agree, but we've seen more soft power from the UK since Brexit than the EU in years.
Really, that's a bold statement without any sources to back it up.
So do present your sources that the UK is now more potent in soft projection now that it has less economic influence than before.
I'm speaking from my own country on this topic, British High Commissioner tells NZ to 'prioritise' trade deals, .. That itself is a massive use of soft power, that doesn't happen often. I mean, I'd like a source from you about how the UK has less economic influence especially when it is basically going to lord it over all of us with potential trade deals.
You see it as a massive use of soft power, when anyone else would see it as a desperate nation that's decided to kick itself out of one of the biggest trade blocs on this hemisphere trying to scramble for any scraps it can get before it starts losing because the EU is a more valuable trading partner than the UK alone.
Citing someone "Telling someone to do something" is not a source btw, it's barely an anecdote. I want hard facts like, oh idunno, statistics on UK trade deals increasing or getting better terms due to soft power.
Best part is when you actually read your source and see
While Peters had spoken to UK officials in London about the attack, the discussions this week had not turned to New Zealand's plan to work towards an FTA with Russia.
Peters has been clear on his plans to work towards a free trade agreement with Russia.
Notice how it's a complete failure on the UK High Commissioner's part.
So instead of the
You better fucking not do this FTA with Russia, focus on us instead
You got
Ok so could you please not do this FTA with Russia and do it with us instead? Oh, you're still probably gonna do the FTA with Russia? O-oh, o-ok...
Sorry mate, but that is massive amount of soft power over here, especially as she invited the media to the consulate before informing our government. That is a clear use of soft power, not sure what you are on about, something something delusional about the UK holding sway outside the realm of the EU. However that article does answer your source question, clear use of the UK holding a trade deal up to force us to fall in line, that opportunity wouldn't exist if Brexit wasn't a thing.
Translation:
"The UK has an empire had power at one point, it will somehow return to that point by some 'boilrig miracle magic' ™
I will maybe only admit defeat once it is fucking over and done, instead of facing reality"
Lmao, you think the trade of the world is some kind of all-you-can-eat buffet for the fucking price of free for the UK.
Get real, stop spewing your BS, mate.
I'm glad we'll be able to pick on all of those countries that aren't already part of a trade bloc who have regulatory alignment and tariff agreements with their neighbours.

We'll be able to take on the whole world in trade.
https://softpower30.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/The-Soft-Power-30-Report-2017-Web-1.pdf
"So while the vote to leave has not immediately impacted our position, change is coming. It seems that soft power, as measured by our index, is more comparable to a slow-moving economic fundamental than a volatile market. Events will, over time, enhance or erode a country’s standing, but it’s clear from the results of our 2017 study, that the act of voting to leave has not sent the UK’s soft power stocks tumbling, though overall they have ticked down slightly. That said, while the UK remains in second place globally there have been small changes in the underlying data which gives clues as to the movement we may see in the years ahead. This is particularly noticeable in three of the sub-indices."
Aka it's not fucked yet cause they're still in the EU, change is still coming, and its soft power metrics have already dropped slightly, which is telling considering how slowly soft power is built and lost.
" Yes, the UK has managed to hold
its second place ranking this year, but
with a lower score than in 2016. Moreover,
all indications point to a continued
downward trend as the UK prepares to
exit the European Union."
They also say that the EU's soft power is on a rising trend.
Soft power is what the UK will be left with, the short end of the stick
I don't understand why May actively wants to do this
"Yay for economic suicide in the name of being independent country again, so we can tell brown people immigrants to stay away. Once EU and immigrants are out, all problems will be solved."
So you're not even from the UK? This is baffling. The size of the UK's economy is related to other countries in the EU. I don't understand how you can want a country to leave what's basically the future of Europe (whether you like it or not) even though you're from an island halfway across the world. This is as if I wanted to have the US leave NATO while living here in Switzerland because "they are better off and it doesn't impact me"
Your missing one teensy tiny ever so significant detail:
The current government is one of the most, if not THE most incompetent gaggle of chucklefucks this country has ever been cursed with.
GREAT Britain wont and can’t be great as long as we have a team of brick-for-brains at the helm
