• Trump says 'we've already lost the trade war'

I believe this is correct. It's less that Trump has personally gone bankrupt on multiple occasions, and more that his companies have gone bankrupt. Trump pulls the ejection cord and takes his golden parachute containing whatever remaining value exists and fucks off to safety, leaving the wreckage behind to be Someone Else's Problem. It's a pattern he's repeated throughout his life, and you can see the same attitude in his remarks in the debate with Hillary about how dodging and loopholing out of paying taxes makes him "smart". He thinks he's on this planet to take what's his (because he's constantly winning) and leave the unwanted remains for losers to deal with because they didn't have the smarts to screw him first. He's even got a reputation of trying to screw lawyers over when they try and collect on their billed hours.
Not to mention all the occasions where he's screwed contractors who constructed his hotels out of their dues... Or the Trump University fiasco. Dude's a cheat, plain and simple. I don't understand why it is that there's such a huge portion of this country that just doesn't understand it.
there seems to be a dire lack understanding on how trade deficits... and macroeconomics in general, work in this administration and among his supporters.
I have a feeling we're seeing the same pattern here where he sits on the throne :s
Trade wars are easy to win, so there's no way we're in a trade war because we've already lost the trade war that's totally not happening! Ta-dah~!
Someone please wake us up from this fucking nightmare
