Well as someone else said, doesn't that get nullified if what is afforded by said privilege facilitated committing the crime?
Its called a privilege to begin with lol
Yeah otherwise you could hire an attorney to kill a dude and just be like LOL sorry officer, attorney-client privilege on that my dude ;)
postal no pls, we don't want you to die
I thought by this point we'd all be a bit fatigued of how this stuff goes down; something happens to Trump, Trump blames it on the FBI/ Democrats/ those filthy blacks immigrants, etc. Trump makes vague threats of shutting Mueller down, repeat.
But every time it happens it gets weirdly more hilarious watching a total narcissist realise he isn't in control and he isn't actually all that special.
Eat are the odds at the bookies that trump is impeached?
at any other time in american history, probably 80%+
now? i'm not holding my breath since this whole administration has exposed how far republicans will go to keep their man
It's only going to prolong the inevitable if he does fire him, the dems will get control of congress eventually and restart the investigation. They're not going to let this go
I've become just as disillusioned with the situation as I'm sure you are, the power of the full republican government and the extent of their corruption is troubling. But this seems like a serious win, and I can't see how they're going to remedy this situation, assuming it doesn't get any worse for them.
Everytime they try and build up a barrier, a huge chunk falls off and they end up with a weaker support structure. Like trying to build a house out of low grade cement.
Depending on how public opinion sways, Republicans might warm up to the idea of impeachment closer to the midterms. If they lose a good chunk of reasonable Republican voters due to Trump, they might oust him in an effort to get them back. "Look at us we got rid of the corrupt president, we weren't complicit, no siree, please vote for us because we clearly aren't corrupt like him." They'd still have Pence at that point so it wouldn't completely hurt them.
I'm no expert though so for all I know they might just decide to go down with the ship.

You know, it's good to be prepared and all, but I just don't see Trump firing Mueller.
From Trump's perspective, Mueller is running out of lines to cross. There really isn't much farther he can go, except maybe his family.
If he doesn't try it within, like, a week, he probably never will.
I recall something about Trump backing down on firing him after his staff pushed back. Maybe he's scared to do it?
Also, the speed of the investigation so far seems to rule out the "slow death" theory where they starve the investigation of resources. That's obviously not happening right now.
"Wah! You didn't give me appropriate civil notification procedures before you executed a criminal-grade no-knock search warrant on my everything."
Oh go cry yourself to sleep on daddy Donald's shoulder you big baby, I'm sure he'll be totally sympathetic and won't throw you under the bus ever.
I signed up for the demonstrations in case things go pear-shaped. Given the recent news, I think it's a sound idea at this point.

Tucker has his finger on the pulse of america
literal pandering :v
Wrong guy, the lawyer that just quit was John Dowd and I think was specifically the head lawyer for the office of the president, not Trump himself per se.

Looks like the attorney-client privilege card is mutually incompatible with the "I knew nothing about it" card which brings a side order of professional disqualification for Cohen. Trump's going to make Cohen his latest fall-guy bitch by prioritizing his own self-preservation, just watch.
Daniels nailed him up good.
He can't own up to the agreement because it's politically problematic to admit to covering up his affair with a porn star
He can't deny the agreement because then the agreement has no effect and he can't stop Stormy from talking and she probably has his dick pics to prove it
All of this (it's effectively blackmail) is happening while Trump is desperate to convince the nation that he cannot be and is not currently being blackmailed by the most powerful man in Russia
He thinks we'll believe he can outsmart Putin and he and his lawyer have been outsmarted by a porn star.

Damage control mode
So he's basically getting double-blackmail-assblasted by both Daniels and Putin at the same time.
And I thought Stormy was the only one used to getting dicked.
It's honestly a bit creepy how they scurry to delete and hide things like that. Like it's some youtuber trying to delete old tweets or website info when they get caught red handed.
That sounds a good way to get catastrophic liver damage.
I'm not putting any faith in them but they can only go so far without completely destroying themselves or this nation as a whole in the process.
Bill Clinton was empeached on less than this.
Wasn't the majority of the congress Republican back then though? And as far as I know, Bill Clinton was a Democrat.
The situation today, however, is just a little bit different. The Republicans have the majority AND the president is also a Republican (or at least he's pretending to be).
They're pretty much completely in power, why would they want to throw it away?
thats the point - it shows hypocrisy.
Oh my god, this is soooooo good.
does this make Stormy a modern American folk hero?
