We're not a first world country anymore.
"first world" is a geopolitical term, not a measure of how shit a country is.
you can get filters that clear up almost any given contaminate, yes, including heavy metals, installed in your home. Do you think to research what you're talking about before you post?
Because I said that the situation should be that way, right
Did I say they should be?
All I was doing was pointing out that the supposed ploy to replace water mains with bottled was completely preposterous and not at all representative of reality.
TIL. I'll admit I didn't know consumer heavy metal filters were available, so I'll admit my prev. post was a shitty attempt at a zing snipe.
How about.. We've entered a late stage capitalism so deep, many areas of this country now appear to be of developing countries rather than developed.
Nestlé is seeking to pump 576,000 gallons of water each day from a well in western Michigan.
just under one olympic swimming pool of water per day on the assumption that well water is infinate.
See these guys have figured it out, they can't win against states with strict water management laws so they'll go to states that don't have them and reap the benefits there.
My cities at least replacing a lot of the lead piping in our water system, but our source is still really, really good compared to a lot of midwestern states. Still kind of garbage that they only do up to the residence and not beyond that but it still reduces the risk of contamination at least.
