Trump attorney: Cohen may flip because he's afraid to be raped by black men

That's entirely dependent on how much Trump wants to ensure his silence and what, exactly, he's found to be guilty of.
You're attempting to equate the competency and integrity of our judges and our congress. This past year has shown that there is no comparison to be made.
Probably does not equal definitely.
I'm trying to state that guidelines can be bent when money and power are at stake, which is easily equatable between Congress' refusal to act and the BoP guidelines in question.
This entire conversation started when I said that him being raped in prison is not an "unfounded fear".
If there's a real chance that he goes to federal prison, him being raped is not an "unfounded fear".
Unless you want to go around telling women who are afraid of being raped that it's simply unfounded because statistically there's a good chance they won't be.
It's not an 'unfounded' fear to be worried that every second of your life that you stand outside you may be struck by lightning bolts. People have, routinely, been struck by such bolts - but over vast distances and under greatly differing circumstance. Is your fear unfounded? No.
Is the intensity of your fear substantiated by the statistics? No.
can we all just agree there's no poetic justice in being abused in american prisons, law and order candidate or not, and this thread is equivalent to trash tv when it comes to the political debate
Thinking about this through the lens of someone who is likely super racist, maybe it has something to do with the stereotype that black people have the biggest cocks?
It's not a fucking phobia to be concerned that you might become a victim of the extremely brutal prison industry that has absolutely no concern for the well-being of its victims.
Hold up. Prison rape rates are way higher than everywhere else.
"In 2011–12, an estimated 4.0% of state and federal prison inmates and
3.2% of jail inmates reported experiencing one or more incidents of
sexual victimization by another inmate or facility staff in the past 12
months or since admission to the facility, if less than 12 months."
That's 4% of the population being raped (not sexual harassment, but fullblown rape) per year.
Additionally,
However, advocates dispute the accuracy of the numbers, saying they seem
to under-report the real numbers of sexual assaults in prison,
especially among juveniles.
The numbers might be even higher than that.
That's a ton of hyperbole you've got there. Can you prove it has 'absolutely no concern for the well-being of its victims' or that it is 'extremely brutal'? Last I checked, beds were still being supplied, sheets were being laundered, and food, medical care, and time outside their cells was still being provided for inmates that doesn't sound like 'absolutely no concern' to me.
A lot of prisons throughout the country are just decidedly average and predominately boring. They're full of small injustices, certainly, as people might get decked their noses might get broken and so forth, but it's not like our prisons are full of murderhobos and rapists just itching for a single solitary second of flickering light to make grown men cry like some horrific boogeyman monster.
Our prisons are cramped. Our guards are far from congenial. People are routinely exploited by the state to do menial labor for the state's profit. The food is for shit. There are black markets for porn mags and mayo packets. There is nothing to do but work and work out, chat with people who maybe visit you, meet with your lawyer if they come in, and read if you're lucky enough to have the privilege to do so or try and advance your way into a less shit prison job. The majority of our prison population is non-violent drug offenses and major but still reasonable crimes such as theft, kidnapping, assault (note: not murder) and the like.
Our prisons do not in any way resemble Oz on the day-to-day, especially taking a national view. They are shitty places full of bored people. They are not hives of villainous murders and rapists except in the dominion of cable TV.
Your definition of what 'a victim is' and the reality of what people who are actual victims of that industry are and their daily lives do not match. If we're going to talk about 'victims of the prison industry' then we should talk about it with statistics rather than adrenaline-fueled 'around every corner of this prison is death and rape' fantasies.
How do you look at a rate as high as 10% and think "nah it's just a phobia to be concerned that that might happen to you"
'Be concerned' is a different level of fear than 'dread and avoid at all costs'. Furthermore, if we're going to take only the extremes into major consideration here:
How do you look at a rate as low as 0% and think 'man this is just all over the place. everyone must be getting raped in prison.'
Idk why the whole rape argument started. I just think its funny that a man whos obviously broken a shitton of laws is more scared about rape than the penalties of said laws. Play stupid games win stupid prizes ect.
Like Trump won't just pardon him
The President can only pardon federal crimes. State charges are out of his jurisdiction (damn those states' rights!) no matter how much he may think otherwise.
So far Cohen has not been charged with any crimes and is being investigated by a federal entity, but state prosecutors will have a chance to sink their teeth in before this is all over.
