i mean, i was welding and shit in high school when i was 16, others did woodworking. a 16 year is is capable of throwing cardboard in a baler or garbage into the trash compactor. i don't think that kids that age should be doing factory work or anything really technical, but i think there should be ways to waive it for retail and similar work, with extra protections around making sure that it was teen themselves that asked to learn it.
getting rid of the hour limit would be a terrible move, except for emancipated teens.
