Will Democrats Unite to Block President Torturer, Gina Haspel, as CIA Chief?

Oh, so sometimes it's effective? Well break out the gasoline and pliers, let's get to torturing!
I was replying to the man who said the cia itself called torturing ineffective, he was wrong. If you read the report it even says there is no way to test the efficacy of enhanced interrogation but there is solid evidence that was only obtained after a subject had been tortured. I am in no way a supporter of torture but there remains the fact that we deal with people willing to strap bombs to their chest and run into a crowd, and the idea that we should be bound by what we morally think is right may have become a relic of another time.
Fox News once said that Democrats voting Republicans was akin to chicken voting for Colonel Sanders. I don't disagree with this.
Uhhh...
I dunno, you're doing a good job of arguing for torture here.
This is a road that leaves behind hundreds of thousands of bodies and human rights violations on the way to a final destination of fascism at best and violent anarchy at worst. You cannot beat fire by becoming fire; all you do is burn down more of the forest.
The Purge wasn't a documentary or an aspirational film, beeteedubs.
Haspel secures enough Senate support for confirmation as CIA dir..
And the world keeps on turning.
So you save "2 Billion people" ( even though the population of the United States is 325.7 Million at its current count ), but you in the end justify the torturee's suspicions of willing to
do anything to protect your own skin.
Sure 1 person can be insignificant now, but when you stack up the bodies you eventually give them all a reason to keep on resisting against you. You give them a reason to NEVER trust you, to NEVER negotiate with you, to NEVER stop fighting against you.
If the war is about making our side look better in comparison to our enemy we're starting to lose.
And earth has over 7 billion people, you understand the united states isn't alone right? (I mean just to be clear considering I didn't specify the united states in a hypothetical.) Thanks for not answering the yes or no question with a unrelated answer though, (also love the bit about 2 billion people being my own skin, but again hypothetical.)
If you wanna start down the we're gonna make them all martyrs path then I'm gonna let you in on something, The torturing came after we invaded what they consider to be sacred holy ground and started dropping bombs on men women and children, but sure its torture thats gonna make them hate us as if they don't live their lives under the threat of death and mutilation every day.
So what are you arguing? That torturing them is okay since you've already fucked up so bad it's unavoidable that America's created terrorist threats for decades to come?
