IMO the solution is not diplomacy as the SK Liberals want, because NK doesn't play along with the same rules that modern globalized societies do, NK abuses foreign country's good will and desire for security in order to get a few more bucks for the ruling elite to live comfortable lives. The leaders of NK care absolutely NOTHING for their own people and can't be expected to do a single thing that's good for their own people unless it DIRECTLY benefits them as well (and more). The solution, I think, is to covertly support the pro-chinese political factions in NK and eventually get some top general to blow Kim Jong-Uns head off, end the dynasty, and open up trade with China, and we can focus on opening up trade to the rest of the world later
Which is going to work brilliantly with Trump because he needs a win, to the point where he may have prematurely celebrated this one. The MAGAshphere hyped this up so much that if it falls through it will be massively embarrassing
See, I knew this shit was too good to be true. The fact that it came from out of nowhere was a big red flag for me. Now the only thing i'm worried about is how Trump's big stupid ass ego will react?
You shouldn't. Being optimistic about a good thing happening isn't foolish at all. Whichever way things had developed, they had to start the same way - with peace talks and diplomatic contact.
Thank you, I needed that. It's still frustrating to watch, though.
Everyone was so excited while I was over here saying, "This is extremely fishy. What on earth could have changed in NK's material circumstances to cause them to abruptly give up nukes?" Surprise, nothing.
Heh, NK played Trump like a fiddle. They've put him in an embarrassing situation, since he went all Bush on us and declared "mission accomplished" in regards to the NK deal. Now, if he is to save face, he will have to strike a deal, ANY deal, and NK are in a strong position in that regard. Best dealmaker at work here folks.
Turns out Little Rocket Man's button is more powerful and works much better than Trump's. He's so predictable and easy to manipulate. Just let him think he's winning and you can make him do anything you want. He's a slave to flattery. Telling him he deserved to win the Nobel was perfect bait to drag him way out into the open where he's exposed. And he took it like a toddler grabbing at a plate of unsupervised cookies after being told they can have one.
