That's a bit dramatic way to describe democracy but can't say it's untrue.
I would recommend emailing a mep from your country, use this website https://saveyourinternet.eu Just a note, the list of meps won't show for some countries (like Poland apperantly), in which case use this website to find a mep http://www.europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/map.html
As some of you might have noticed, some far right and and alt right people have managed to go viral on youtube and tumblr with news of this, so as a reaction now there's claims circulating on tumblr that article 13 is "really about combatting fake news and russian interference", and that Techdirt is "alt right aligned" but that's bullshit based on all proof I can find. If some of you find more details about this that would be very helpful. Julia Reda's concerns seem nothing if not genuine but why are so many countries in support of even stricter control that what this article offers?
I don't think most of us will die before the internet does sadly. Wow the greatest invention since electricity and then we have a bunch of old idiots try and ruin it any chance they get.
If Europe keeps trying regulating the internet like this, then it would make sense if American companies simply started shuttering access from European IPs.
Julia Reda is part of Germany's Pirate Party, a very left wing, technology-centric party that advocates for open internet and open borders. Furthermore, Techdirt is a blog advocating for an open internet as well, and they regularly criticize the American FCC for example. Claiming that Julia Reda and Techdirt are alt-right is absurd. The only kinds of people who I can imagine doing this are indoctrinated fools like the people who visit r/politics way too much, or people who directly profit from these laws.
Keep in mind Net Neutrality was passed March 12, 2015. Was the internet bad before I don't think so.
Net Neutrality was a thing long before 2015. 2015 was just when the Internet was classified as a public utility.
Every fuckin basement dweller wants to be "the guy who reinvented the internet!!1!!!". And of course you've got to throw in some blockchain stuff just because.
new world order is coming quicker and quicker everyday. remember hearing that the internet was now considered a human right and now it seems like more and more everyday they wanna fuck with it its fine how it is
Well due to all the hard labor bureaucrats and politicians did in the 1800's and onward your vote allows you, lil' old you, to have a voice among a sea of people some rich, some poor, some with terrible hygiene or others with clinically insane levels of OCD, a voice to say that the person who wrote this bill can fuck off and die like the cunt they are. Such is the great ability to do this it is that it is enshrined in most government constitutions around the world that bills like this must go through a process elected to position by you to specifically say "fuck off and die you terrible legislator and your bill can too". a new world order has indeed come and with it brought trade and prosperity past the bleak horizon that world war 2, an event bred by old ideas like nationalism and empire tried to set upon us. I have complete faith in the EU and U.S. governments as ruling bodies even if they stumble here and there.
How many pigeons do I need to watch porn without buffering times?

Let's just hope the European Parliament shoot this shit down, and that people actually contact their MEPs about it.
Not all is lost, though interesting is to take a look at the parties in JURI that were for and against (according to projection, not based off the vote that was made today) https://juliareda.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/art13juri.png What's completely dumb is that the eurosceptic conservatives and far right, that are so much about freedom of speech and evil EU, actually are approving of this; just proves how double-faced they are (and yet people still believe them) In addition, i'm disappointed that EPP and out of everything the liberals were also voting for this - really sad state of affairs Well, here's hope for the vote in european parliament on july 4th (correct me if i'm wrong)
welp, time to start stockpiling those memes
