This pardon is perfectly fine. No one should face a life sentence on a first offense drug charge. And life for money laundering? Shit I bet more than half of congress do the exact same thing in some way. Not just life, but life without parole. She got involved with cocaine, her kid was killed, she was divorced, her house was foreclosed on...

Yeah a life sentence for that is harsh.

What ISN'T fine, though, is Trump's found this new power, and all Trump cares about is power. power power power. He'll say anything, even if it contradicts anything he's said just minutes ago, so long as in that very moment he seems bigger, better, more powerful, or more in control. From every hand shake, to sitting down and pushing his stuff across a larger area of a table at every meeting. Everything he does is a dumb 'power move'. He's even left parties he was already at to then return in a helicopter just to flaunt it.

Trump is like an animal, probably due to his diminished mental ability, just doing whatever makes him feel good.

It has less to do with 'diminished mental ability', although I do think the President's probably suffering from something age-related up there, and more to do with his narcissism. A narcissist says whatever makes them look good in the moment. He'll lie effortlessly. He's as easy to manipulate as play-doh. He craves fame and celebrity, and being photographed next to other famous celebrities is desirable because of the (perceived) value of association -- he can't be a worthless, empty person with no redeeming qualities besides not actively murdering people with his bare hands right this moment if he's being photographed with famous people.

He says and does whatever he wants, because he's spent his whole life as a CEO of a private company so someone who's never had anyone tell them "no" except when it's the government, and that means you just need to conceal what you're doing so they don't see it. Becoming President of the USA has been a downgrade because now he's got these pesky "checks and balances" he's not used to dealing with.
