No I'm pretty sure this is worse if you're left wing, considering the liberal party still had championed some progressive agendas and instated a $15 minimum wage. Also can we stop diluting elections to "wah someone you didn't like won" considering these elections, especially something as local as this, have a massive impact on people's day to day lives.
Are you forget Ontario's New Democrats existed in nearly Ontario's political history with almost same policies as you said? And here goes with toxic crap, And plus we are mainly focusing in aftermath of recent Ontario general election not even on entirely American politics.
And the Liberals championing "progressive" social justice crap is part of what's made them so unpopular. The people who support that nonsense vote NDP anyways, all doing that did is push moderates towards the Conservatives.
While I mostly agree for rest paragraph except first and mildly last parts. Well not entirely main factor of how got majority of Ontario population become disillusioned with Liberals and like to do with Hydro and Carbon taxes.
It's starting to be observed at the federal level too. Some polls are putting the Tories ahead of the Liberals, despite Scheer having the charisma and presence of a dead salmon.
With rising of New Democrats too. Seen here https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/55/Opinion_polling_during_the_pre-campaign_period_of_43rd_Canadian_federal_election.svg
