Guards at Trump prison camp for children ordered to stop them from hugging

Stop for a second and consider what you've just said.
"Well what if somebody we suspect of breaking the law claims that they weren't?"
Welcome to the basis of our entire legal and judicial system. Yes, the question you just posed is why we have a legal system with things like courts of law, prosecutors, defendants, etc. It's also why mass trials of suspected illegal immigrants are a blatant violation of the rights so clearly outlined in our Constitution (which, I will remind you, specifically applies to EVERYBODY, not just to US citizens).
Your words here are ringing pretty hollow when you just spent the last page arguing that 'what you knew' was more than what we knew. Are you sure they're not as bad as we're claiming? You were very sure just a short time ago that you knew exactly what the process was for seeking asylum.
You have just admitted that you were arguing from a position of complete and willful ignorance, and yet you're still adamantly arguing.
You. Don't. Know. What. You're. Talking. About.
Either step back and take a few minutes to educate yourself about the basics of this situation so you can at least debate from an informed position, or stop carrying on as if your ignorance, assumptions, and feelings are valid substitutes for knowing the facts.
Why does me being wrong about asylum invalidate the argument that these shelters are no where near a comparison of a concentration camp?
because it's a weak argument when the living conditions are bad enough without having to be literal concentration camps.
Who the fuck cares if it's not exactly a concentration camp? The situation is deplorable and people are being stripped of their families and rights. That should be something stirring anger within you, not "oh, these people are calling them concentration camps when technically they're not!!"
a place where large numbers of people, especially political prisoners or members of persecuted minorities, are deliberately imprisoned in a relatively small area with inadequate facilities, sometimes to provide forced labor or to await mass execution.
There's large number of people of particular racial variety being contained, many of which were seeking political asylum, and who are now being used for political purposes (thus making them political prisoners - albeit not in the usual sense). They are contained in a relatively small area. The facilities in question are barebones. We have no evidence that those pool areas et cetera are even being used by said asylum-seekers and even if they were, the ability to play pool does not make the facilities 'adequate' when there are constant reports that they are understaffed, underequipped, and are forced not only to separate parents from their children but to not allow any sort of hugging nor touch the children in question.
In what way does all that not constitute a concentration camp?
You are calling me out on facts when you are saying the shelter is a "prison camp" they are not restrained and have access to food, games, health care, beds, etc.
Prison yards allow inmates to move freely and they have controlled access to food, games, healthcare, beds, et cetera.
You didn't know that asylum-seekers were being subjected to this brutality. You didn't know how people apply for asylum. You didn't know that being arrested and having your children ripped from your arms is not a part of the asylum application process. You didn't know that the jailing of children in mass detention centers is not a part of the asylum process. You didn't know that immigrants have legal rights under the Constitution. You didn't know that those legal rights are being violated.
And finally: you don't know the fucking definition of a concentration camp.
"A place where large numbers of people, especially political prisoners or members of persecuted minorities, are deliberately imprisoned in a relatively small area with inadequate facilities[...]"
You have no idea what you're talking about, and you either need to stop arguing and take a minute to actually learn the basic facts of the subject you're so aggressively arguing, or just go the fuck away...
The people who sit back and ratings spam actually try to reply and make it immediately obvious that they don't have the loosest fucking grasp on the topic. Like poetry.
If it was people just spamming ratings because they thought it was funny then fair enough but if you want to use the word dogpile then you have to set a limit for how many people are allowed to respond to people saying uninformed shit.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say maybe you're right about that.
Tell where it says they are locked in a cage with no freedom to leave.
They are locked in a facility and may not leave it. That the cage is made of concrete does not make it 'not a cage'.
don't you guys hate it when you run out of passive aggressive ways to call someone a fucking moron?
If you admit to having no idea what you're talking about, refuse to learn the basic underlying facts, and yet continue to push your aggressively uninformed opinions and feelings of a given topic as if they are valid despite being rooted in willful ignorance, even after being repeatedly corrected on every point concerned, then yes, the Politics forum is a "trap" for you.
This is a news and debate subforum. If you're too dense for either, then piss off, "Snowflake."
Trump supporters have pretty much zero valid points. Even in gun discussions they don't understand the function of the second amendment and wind up hamstringing valid arguments and concerns with their overwhelming ignorance.
what really makes me think and gets the "almonds activated"
is that you banned this guy for being "willfully ignorant"
alright cool I can see that yeah he was acting kinda quirky
and earlier.
this happened. and you banned him, fair ban reasonable.
but
you didn't ban this in-fact another mod banned this.
in-fact it was an hour after Programmer's ban so you've had to have seen it.
care to explain?
Fucking hell this thread is so frustrating to read. It's like if someone were to try and argue that the stolen generation in Aus was good.
gj being the hmm... style intellectual in the thread about babies ripped from their mothers
"why was this guy banned???"
because he was fucking stupid, like you

My god, this is my favorite argument/backpedaling. @Programmer
I feel like right now would be a good time for that old discussion about whether or not all Germans were complicit in the Holocaust? I feel like a lot of the people being apologetic about this ironically has some rather strong and black and white views of the subject.
And all he's got to muster is a snowflake; a reflection of himself
Maybe your opinions are so beyond the pale that not even mods care that you got insulted
Is anyone else a little scared that all these federal agents are just going along with this? That sets a terrifying modern prescedent
“Geez guys I wonder why Trump supporters don’t post here anymore! Seems kinda ridiculous!”
He’s still not banned for this is hilarious.
Instead of whining about people who have a history of ignoring facts and keep posting their circular logic, why don't you actually debate your point.
Lately the amount of right wingers fucking whining about being persecuted for not debating above a 6th grade level is infuriating.
The weird thing is I didn't even post a point I replied to one of Patriot's reply's and asked him about something and now I'm being told I'm
and that the rules don't matter for me anymore because my opinons are too wacky (which I think the last time I made a post about something about the topic at hand was on page 3.)
Gee I wonder if I really should put the time and effort to construct an argument when all I seem to be getting is quick zingers from people.
@Hezzy
Because instead of forming an counterpoint you rather whine about being called a terrible person for trying to ignore the elephant in the room that is "ripping kids away from their parents and putting them in an caged room is bad, and possibly a human right's violation". There is no argument to stand on with this inhumane act, so you rather complain about being bullied instead.
you just said why don't I make an argument and now you're saying that ACTUALLY there is no argument for me to stand on it's too crazy and wacky! do you not see the doublethink?
Like gonestly if you support trump at the point, you are either extremely ignorant, stupid, racist, or maybe all of the three.
