If you want to smoke out the issue of illegal immigrant, slice it open at the source. Trumps immigration policy is full of flashy showmanship and flair to impress his followers and not much actual long term planning. The best thing I can think of is to start hemorrhaging money from companies that hire illegals with fines. Use the money to further fund investigations. As far as I can tell this doesn't happen. They stay here because they can find easy work and very large companies are hiring them. It's a mutual deal, the companies save money, the illegals get what they want. Force companies to pay better and fine them millions if they screw up. Of course this is idealistic and will never happen, and maybe it would work like shit, I don't know. Biggest issue is that companies will just ignore the fines like normal and pay off lobbyists, like usual. At this point, you may as well just ignore it, because the cons aren't that horrifying to warrant a budget and the problem is going away with time on its own. But really, trying to deport in mass is an anti-solution and won't work, you have to attack the reason they're coming here. There are far too many for this to ever work.
