This is implying white people are by default more accepting of atrocities like this, suggesting that there is something wrong with being white. This has the same problems as someone suggesting it's bad to be black because black people are more likely to be gang members. It ignores context in favor of a quick generalization that is completely unfair to people of that ethnicity.

It just reminds me of that quote by Elie Weisel

"We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."

White people aren't more accepting but I think they're more willing to be neutral. And being neutral means being silent. Ostensibly white people have the most to gain from the status quo staying the way it is, as they have the most power in society.

What one takes a side against is an important distinction. People like Wilson there making stupid generalizations along the lines of 'white people' are essentially bigots. No better on the whole than the alt right. This is a war of classes and culture between the progressive America and the theocrats, racists and oligarchs that make up the GOP's support base, not a war of Black vs. White vs Brown vs Asian. Some people are incapable of seing that.
