You are the one calling them 'inferior', I never heard such rhetoric from the current American government. And anyway these internment camps are not new, they were there under Obama, Bush, Clinton and Reagan, though the policy of separating ALL families is. This is not the first time the U.S. government has used temporary shelters for minors: During the surge of unaccompanied minors crossing the border in 2014, HHS set up several temporary facilities at military bases. Immigrant Children Separated From Parents At The Border
Trump is racist end of story not an excuse for their existence I don't care who set them up, but these camps were unacceptable to begin with and Trump has worsened conditions in them significantly
not an excuse for their existence I don't care who set them up, but these camps were unacceptable to begin with and Trump has worsened conditions in them significantly They need somewhere to process them. Crossing the border illegally is still a crime and where would they go anyway? Though I personally think America has enough room for about a billion people, you will have language, housing and employment issues.
If you seriously believe that people who support Trump are legitimately bad people (nearly half the population) then not only are you delusional, but you will also find that this sort of thinking will continue to lead to people voting for the GOP. I see so many people saying that their vote for Hillary Clinton is not a subscription to all of the awful things that she had done but will not offer that sort of tolerance towards people who voted for Trump. This isn't to defend Trump but to state the reality. The 2016 election wasn't indication of Trump's popularity but of Clinton's unpopularity. She made it clear that she thought anybody who didn't side with her were "deplorable". You can't change minds and hearts that way. And you're still seeing the effects of this. There is supposed to be a massive "blue wave" for midterms especially given Trump's approval rating is teetering on 40-45% but it really hasn't happened. That might not be a great thing because typically you want an opposing legislature to the executive but its a clear indication that the "basket of deplorable" mentality is not productive at all.
Here's how it is: You either hear all the racist shit Trump says and does, and you agree with it (which makes you a racist) Or you somehow don't care (which makes you a racist). Either way, you're a bad person. I'm easily convinced that the 40% of the country that supports him is racist as fuck
Godwin himself gave the goahead to compare alt right and Trump to hitler lmao. Not like comparing actual far right world leaders was ever an unfair comparison. I feel like the "law" was meant as a joke about calling mods nazis and stuff like that. Not actual fascist movement.
The static way you view people is almost as laughable as an Ayn Rand novel.
If you're implying that Obama and such separated families: The article you linked says differently. There were facilities for children, yes, but those were for unaccompanied children. As in, children who were already separate from their families when the government caught them. Family separation at all is new. Or if it was used in the past, it certainly wasn't recent. If you're NOT implying that, then ignore this.
Ayn Rand isn't funny, it's sleep inducing.
Except if they are asylum seekers, and the US has signed international obligations to protect and take in asylum seekers. The Trump administration's policy is to treat anyone trying to enter the country as an unwanted illegal criminal, even if what they are doing is completely legal under international law that the US has signed onto.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/local/wp/2018/06/23/why-a-small-town-restaurant-owner-asked-sarah-huckabee-sanders-to-leave-and-would-do-it-again/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.0506452d30dc Interesting note: She knew Lexington, population 7,000, had voted overwhelmingly against Trump in a county that voted overwhelmingly for him. She knew the community was deeply divided over such issues as Confederate flags. She knew, she said, that her restaurant and its half-dozen servers and cooks had managed to stay in business for 10 years by keeping politics off the menu. And she knew — she believed — that Sarah Huckabee Sanders worked in the service of an “inhumane and unethical” administration. That she publicly defended the president’s cruelest policies, and that that could not stand. “I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” Wilkinson said. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.” This is a deep red part of the state that this happened in, not a hyper liberal place.
Their Yelp page is getting review bombed by MAGA shitheads https://m.yelp.com/biz/the-red-hen-lexington-3
Godwin himself said that Godwin's Law doesn't apply anymore, this Administration clearly has the smell and motions of goddamn facism.
Inevitable. Avenue Q sang that the Internet is for porn, but apparently it's actually for anonymously bullying people for not agreeing with you.

dunno why the MAGA crowd are angry about this, just a business owner exercising their right to refuse service to someone based on their political beliefs, something i thought they loved oooooh that's right it's against one of them, i forgot for a brief moment that they're exempt from their own rules. silly me.
What pisses me off is that Godwin's Law is an observation, yet idiots treat it as if it proves something
You know, I hope the Reddit admins keep a record of every frequent r/the_donald poster so that they can be put on a watchlist once this administration is removed from office. They are Nazis, and thus a danger to society.
Someone on FP could do this. Just do json.reddit.com/r/the_donald, and crawl it for usernames. Sort by frequency of posts and total karma on the subreddit, too
Conservatives: Private companies should be able to deny customers service if it conflicts with moral or religious interests." Also Conservatives: "Wow I want this company to go bankrupt for doing thing I said I wanted."
I would cite a comic for them on free speech, but xkcd is liberal garbage for them I am guessing. It involves telling how if someone (SHS) gets denied service or kicked out of a restaurant, it's not because they are censoring her or being prejudiced against her, it's just because they think she's an asshole. Also, for those who are going to that certain subreddit, you are selfless and deserve a medal for what you're doing. Nobody should be exposed to that massive amount of toxicity and stupidity.
How appropriate their understanding of the law only goes up to the 18th century.
Do you really believe that getting a new job for some McDonald's burger flipper and for someone who works for the White House is the same thing?
Just an update, trump used his twitter to attack the restaurant personally: https://mobile.twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1011212766487728133?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-4486316443002884931.ampproject.net%2F1529449959701%2Fframe.html What a literal child.
Sanders now has to defend her boss's statement that she chose to eat at a filthy dirty restaurant
I've read a bunch of bonafide BS from "conservative" internet and journalism personalities that completely misses the point of the flipside of the first part of this post. This is a case of a person who is a Republican treated poorly, but taken in the bigger context, the poor treatment is understandable and probably justified. The flipside of "liberal discrimination" isn't just as bad as not letting black people sit at lunch counters, because the politics are completely different. As aforementioned in this thread, Sanders is choosing to say and do these horrible things for this horrible adminstration. Sanders is making a conscious effort to be a garbage person, and retaliation isn't unfair or comparable to anti-gay or anti-black discrimination. The way this administration is choosing to treat people who cannot control their situations is what is carrying protested by the Red Hen. The treatment Sanders received at the Red Hen wasn't because she was a Republican, but because she very publicly, very ardently defends despicable government policies. This isn't an example of the "intolerant left" because these situations are not the same. It's not worth your effort or reputation to go to bat for a woman who is choosing to be racist.
Even better: https://t.co/IYA7DIYPvE?amp=1
Okay seriously, either its free speech or not. On top of that the exchange was polite and courteous and done so for the staff of the restaurant, not some personal vendetta. This could not have been done more professional if you tried.
Refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple because it goes against your belief: “That’s freedom baby!” Refuse to serve a person based on their administration’s unethical treatment of people: “RUDE SERVICE, POLITICAL BIAS, DIRTY KITCHEN, BAD.” Fucking hypocrites.
Oh I guess it's not fun to be rejected service when it happens to you
