Interviewer: "But will you use your power to discourage Virginians from shouting down elected leaders and ridiculing them when they make public appearances and go to restaurants." What a ridiculous question. "Will you try to stop your citizens from exercising their first amendment rights through public shaming of liars and fascists?"
And we let the hazards get away it cause we are too focused on preventing "other side" gaining power vs challenging those with enough power over both parties
This is the sort of shit people in politics say here unironically. Speaking out too loudly against bigwigs can get you harassed, thrown in prison, or murdered by fanatical party workers, if it comes to that. It's also disheartening to see the same shit go into attempted normalization in a country like the USA.
This is more than just a boycott tho It's harassment.
