There was an unimplemented part of the Bill of Rights to control apportionment, good luck passing it these days as it would make the House have over 5,000 members.
RGB is pushing 90 years old, as well. 1/3rd of the Supreme Court will be Trump loyalists.
She will stay alive from sheer force of will. Anyway Roberts has said Roe. v. Wade is settled and will probably join the four liberals in declining to hear abortion cases just about abortion and not some new legal aspect of it.
Apportionment needs to change, something similar to the wyoming rule but not quite as severe. It should be a percentage based system. Maybe determine the pop of each state from the census, determine the total population, then assign the 438 congressmen based on the percentages, then add 1 to each state to ensure the minimum congressmen. 488 congressmen aren't going to dramatically change the house. There's better ways than our round robin system. For that matter, there's plenty of other governments that have floating counts, the current house seat limit doesn't really matter anymore since every vote in the house is almost always completely partisan anymore.
Can only hope Roberts sides with liberals for the court's public image, at least that recent ruling was nice. I with abortion wasn't the most polarizing thing in the country, it makes each side think the other is abominable.
no the court will be staffed next season, they aren't going to wait until november because ~arbitrary reasons~ even though our whole fucking democracy is founded upon trust and following previous precedents
To be significantly more lenient than the GOP deserves: Obama did appoint Justice Kagan during a midterm year, she was confirmed in August 2010.
Top Supreme Court prospect has argued presidents should not be d..

That's before the Mconnell rule was established. Every judge before Garland had been appointed brisquely from the time of nomination. Mcconnell said that if a judgeship becomes open in an election year the american people must be allowed to vote and decide with the next congress, now the shoe's on the other foot and they're going to just toss it out the window. Our democracy is founded on the principles of adhearing to decorum and rules. He's arbitrarily making up rules now for the sake of politics, which is just one step away from your russia styled democracy where they make up rules on the fly as needed.
