• Europe's migration crisis is 'make-or-break' for the EU - Merkel

Mate, when did I say that the EU is the greatest thing ever and doesn’t do harmful stuff? Also wtf does this have to do with the article?
All I know is we're all screwed when the effects of climate change hit us full force, this migration crisis will look like a dry run in comparison.
For decades borders have been controlled so that not everybody gets into a country so easily. So that potentially bad people get sorted out and aren't being let in. In 2015 Merkel just opened them like that without asking the population if it's a good idea. Without getting a discussion going on. For something like this that can change the entire future of a single country, she simply went ahead and just did it. And they are still open even after the terrorist attacks have happened, even after all those women got raped and killed by people who got here by the free borders. Even after our admins and police forces have been heavily overloaded with tasks while missing specialists and forces to get shit done, for years. You can't call those people refugees, like some here do. These people move through multiple countries to get to their destination. As soon as they are out of their war-zones, they are not refugees anymore. They want to get to countries like Germany because Germany gives the most free social care money for no trade in by their side. And while the migration crisis isn't as high as it was 1-2 years ago, the problem caused is the same. And actually, new problems are being created by having those people in our countries. And only few of them know how to behave. The future of our countries is changing by having these people here. Not all of them are actually seeking for help but just see it as an easy solution compared to their home countries. Economy migrants, thugs, etc. And they mostly have nothing to do because our people can't process everything so easily. When people are bored they do the most stupid things. Populist parties like AfD and Italy's have gotten so much support because the other parties are deflecting and ignoring problems that resulted by letting those people in. It's not about people suddenly turning full-hatred towards migrants but by being ignored by other parties who don't look after the problems that are being caused by these kinds of people. They in turn go to other parties who don't have the best solutions but at least talk about the topics and don't just ignore them (like in our country). There is only one thing that she said correct here. The EU is about being united when it comes to problems like this. It should work like a team. I'm not on Merkel's side because I have become far more negative towards my future thanks to her decision by letting everyone in without checking if potential terrorists get in (they got). I'm not on her said because she has done a piss-poor job communicating with her people and actually being against her own people. She has done an awful job with Germany's population about this whole problem and even had the nerve to complain about the Germans who experienced issues following the crisis (Essener Tafel is just one of those). I really want to see where this is going.
The crisis was handled poorly all round. Yes people should help refugees fleeing from war but the vetting is terrible and there is mainly economic refugees, mixed with terrible background checking. Glad they did something although I wish they did a better job of it, just shows the EU was not at all prepared.
