You can't be force ready if you have a severe spinal condition either but I don't think the military will let you join with a severe spinal condition and then foot the bill for your surgery and recovery. They probably supply Viagra because it's comparatively cheap. I still think it's stupid though.

it's crazy that boner pills replace the naturally manufactured hormones in your body and require batteries of psych evals and physicals before a user is cleared back to full duty
or wait no I think I'm getting the two confused? one of them lasts (hopefully) less than four hours, the other one is a lifelong commitment that takes an individual out of the fight for the majority if not entirety of an enlistment and negatively impacts an individual's readiness and unit cohesion
