Economic theory is based on assumptions however the models used are often proved to be quite accurate as far as prediction goes.
Whether removing illegal immigration would actually take care of the problem is irrelevant because it is impossible. By definition illegal immigration is volatile and nebulous, the best you can do is screen it but not stop it. Especially not in a country as massive as the US where borders span across miles of uninhabited wasteland. Furthermore, companies do not compete for existing workers for the skills they need if the skills in question are low enough, which is 99% of jobs out there; high-wage, high-qualification jobs are few and far between and even then companies will do the best they can to obtain the absolute best return on investment. You cannot realistically hope for the free market to increase wages for low-qualification jobs, especially in services or manual labor, just because you managed to get rid of 5% of those workers, assuming all of them go which is impossible. The ones who remain will have to work harder for the same wage and efforts will be made by the companies to retain the profits if they cannot acquire more cheap workforce.
You mean those same models i and others showed you several times by the same economists that show brexit is going to be disastrous, ehich you dismissed with a "no obe really knows, economics is complicated" Troll
Cheap labor is the big one. Unless you like picking tomatoes for minimum wage part time no benefits in the middle of summer I'd suggest you shut your piehole about immigrants.
Coming to a country illegally and being able to  vote, get healthcare and drive is a big insult to those who work their ass off to make connections, do paperwork and line up a job in advance to come here legally.  Let me see if I understand this correctly. Let’s say I break into your house. Let’s say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, ‘No! I like it here. It’s better than my house. I’ve made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I’ve done all the things you don’t like to do. I’m hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).’ According to the supporters of illegals: -You are required to let me stay in your house -You are required to feed me -You are required to add me to your family’s insurance plan -You are required to educate my kids You are also required to provide other benefits to me & to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be here. It’s only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I’m just trying to better myself. I’m a hard-working and honest person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house. And what a deal it is for me! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior. Why can’t people see how ridiculous this is? Canada is sending illegal immigrants back to the US becuase they are too overwhelmed. Mexico added more checkpoints and border patrols on their border with Guatemala because they are tired of illegal immigrants entering their country. But apparently it's racist for not wanting them here and for wanting stricter immigration and border control.
Imagine pressing buttons on your keyboard 2,013 times and still not realizing how out of touch your response is. Illegals pay taxes, are barred from a vast majority of federal aid programs, and lack almost every benefit a citizen enjoys. They take the jobs that would otherwise be unfilled because the rest of American citizens can get better jobs for better pay than picking crops for, at most, minimum wage.
You are aware illegal immigrants voting is literally a scare tactic pushed by Trump/repub co. that had literally no evidence besides a less than 1% error. Trump himself proved it with his phoney voting accuracy watchdog group that couldn't pull any accurate data of fraud. Besides, if that were true, Georgia would be constantly blue with how many illegals work here in the construction industry and how close the shift is. And not even Americans get free healthcare unless they are broke as fuck. You post literally a single state offering free healthcare to children regardless of immigrant status. We should have free healthcare regardless, and I can tell you that personally with the subs that work with us have to pay for their healthcare like everyone else. Immigrants pay for healthcare like anyone else due to medicaid requiring an SS number and a ton of paperwork to apply for. Which that all goes back to "why would you join an government program if you were hiding from said government". Like you are spreading bullshit lies that I've literally seen first hand that are false. Illegals work like everyone else, pay taxes like everyone else, and receive no government kickbacks unlike everyone else. The only government kickback they get is education for their children, which is still pretty fucking low considering they pay just about the same tax as everyone else. Comparing illegals to a burglar that forcibly breaks into your house is dumb as hell, considering the points I just made. You source Canada as a reference to them sending Illegals back, when that is asylum seekers from African/Caribbean nations, and a totally different issue considering the main focus is mexico and SA immigrants. Which the reason why Canada is being overwhelmed and forced to send refugees back is because the US has refused to support taking refugees themselves, causing them to move up a nation. This was a change spurred by Trump for racist connotations that go against our refugee laws. Oh and btw, the use of the daily wire shows me exactly why you think all this bullshit fear mongering is true considering it is an right wing biased source with mixed factual reporting: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-daily-wire/
Why can't you see how ridiculous your "comparison" that illegal immigration is just like breaking into your house is?
Alright, I stand corrected. I still think it's insulting to the immigrants who followed the rules to get here.
You seem to really like presuming you know how other immigrants feel about this.
Why do you people keep replying to Boilrig? Just ignore them and move on. You're not going to change the way they think.
Tbh I'm actually wondering if anyone who was born here through 3+ generations will be deported at this point
Like Donald Trump. He is a third gen immigrant from Germany.
You know nothing of economics
They're not just arresting illegal immigrants, by the way, for those who don't know. They're arresting journalists who're reporting on them. https://www.thedailybeast.com/journalist-held-by-ice-speaks-without-a-doubt-i-was-targeted-for-my-work?ref=home
The point of replying to people like Boilrig isn't entirely to change their mind, it's just as much to give people reading the argument contrasting points, perspectives, and information You won't convince every zealot, but it doesn't hurt to make the effort, especially when you've got an audience You're probably not gonna change his mind, but you might give someone following the argument some new things to think about and expose them to multiple perspectives they might not have been exposed to otherwise
Thanks... because I really want to think about getting deported tomorrow :V
Second amendment flavoured taste would be a harsh but perhaos just a little deserved.
