The U.S. Army Is quietly discharging immigrant recruits

"tonight on Fox News, mexicans have found a way to steal your jobs without even being there!"
"Alright saying that gypsies are going to be genocided is weird enough, are you seriously implying Hitler and his culty supporters are seriously going to try and remove every single jew now?" -German man, 1932
This is only the start. If the Republicans win the midterms (which they'd probably do by having the Russians hack voter rolls and de-register people, after all, who's going to investigate?) then they're going to start having political dissidents removed from the army as well. That way when the Trumpian Republicans start taking their power grab even further, there will be no chance of the military rising against them.
Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy didn't just decided "oh btw kill the jews and worship the party or go to jail"
the best way to get what you want is through small steps that don't make too much noise on their own, it will eventually add up to the final result
an ocean is made of droplets, a beach is made of grains of sand, a field of grass is made of blades. you must make your population accustomed to the changes, shift the Overton window and turn these now crazy ideas into normality
unfortunately people will not open their eyes to the path ahead, some not even after they're been through it (otherwise the western world wouldn't be retreading the same steps made a century ago) so you must fight the skepticals too
Problem is: the administration falls into that first category, and clearly has little regard for reality.
Do you actually believe this retarded, inbred shit you say or do you just like to shit on those darn lefties because your mom left your dad for one leaving you to grow up in a broken home with an alcoholic, abusive father who blamed his problems on someone else when he wasn't beating on you?
I'm pretty moderate about these issues but that picture is completely out of context. Those "soldiers" posing are marine scout snipers, the only relation they have to the actual SS is the logo. The Marine Corps apologized and had an investigation into it. Anyone who didn't know who they were would automatically assume Nazi SS, but with any research that's obviously not the case. I'm not trying to prove a point in either direction, but it's dishonest to post something like this out of context.
I disagree with seano too but lol calm down
also about that picture that's so baity in the context of this thread. it's like "OHHH LOOK NAZIS RUN AMOK IN US INFANTRY"
What is the solid evidence that Trump is doing this out of racism and xenophobia rather than the legality? I don't see him saying we should deport legal immigrants. Hell, two of his spouses are immigrants.
I want to see why you are interpreting targeting illegal immigrants as racism. It just so happens that a lot of illegal immigrants are from Mexico because of the shared border. It's not because they have a darker skin tone that they are being targeted.
Because laws aren't some divine word of god they're written by people and if racist people are in power they can be racist inherently.
Because what he's doing to asylum seekers is breaking international law
The program he's killing here has nothing to do with illegal immigrants. It's a path to legal citizenship through voluntary service to our country in our military branches. Destroying this not only unfairly victimizes people who have literally risked their lives on behalf of our nation, it does absolutely nothing to stop illegal immigration. All this does is shut down useful, valid, and entirely legal channel to help people who love our country and want to dedicate themselves to it in exchange for citizenship from doing so. That is a loss for immigrants trying to achieve better lives, it's a loss for our national security, and it's a loss for our country as a whole.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the program is being killed, and I hope it doesn't. It sounds like a great path to citizenship if done properly. In the article it states that the Army responded to them with "they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them".
The article says over 40 people which I assume is a fraction of what the MAVNI recruitment total is. If it starts to become a majority then I can differently see some suspicion on invalid reasons but for right now I think it is safe to say the concerns are not out of bigotry.
Don't get me wrong, I upmost respect those who are willing to serve for our country but if the Army and DoD sees something wrong, then I trust them to deal with the situation appropriately. If it is exposed that these immigrants were terminated because of anything but a valid concern then I will be angry.
