That doesn't even mean anything in context to what he said

A lot of times it's a matter of necessity and not choice. Economics is a really sensitive thing, but let's not pretend that it isn't the result of recent developments in the past 40 years.
you guys are too quick to judge. most CEO's and corporations stack the deck when it comes to politics and payout both sides in order to keep legislators from legislating. He's literally buying more time to not have the politicians gnaw at the bones of tesla or spacex so he can get them ready for when they inevitably will at the behest of their competitors. I'm not sure if you've realized but the governments in the U.S. are used like vicious dogs on a leash by businesses small and big and the only way to spare being mauled is by slapping the political equivalent of a T-bone in front of it and hoping it goes away.
Considering what the current Republican Party represents- and has represented for the last 30 years- it is disappointing.
this makes me wonder if this results in legislators only legislating things because they know they'll get paid big bucks to drop it i'm almost certain this is the case
This is the party of Just Say No, abstinence only sex education, anti-abortion, anti-immigration, anti-working class. I won’t condemn people for having different political ideologies, but at the national level, the GOP does more harm to America than good.
Yo where Morgen at
it wasnt a joke https://i.imgur.com/GZtUMgG.png
most productive to least productive? what a non statement
when the republicans stop acting like disgusting shameful cunts then i'll stop calling people who willingly support them shameful it would be really nice if it was simply two sides of equally valid opposing opinions but it simply isn't and anyone trying to perpetuate this muh both sides bullshit is part of the problem.
I'm not asking for the left or the right to quit being divisive. I'm asking for everyone to quit being a huge bunch of piss babies who refuse to acknowledge each other. It's like this country has turned into a fucking kindergarden class playing the blame game on who broke all the crayons. Grow the fuck up guys.

It implies that the poor are lazy. What a cunt.
You forget most people here are reactionaries who will jump at even the slightest chance to shit on someone else to make themselves feel better inside.
it also implies that he is more productive than the people in his company who actually... produce things. He forgets that he's a glorified ideas guy
I said nothing of the sort and I’m fully aware the democrats are terrible too, but it’s certainly possible to be a lesser of two evils especially given the current circumstances.
You two are looking at a puddle and seeing an ocean. He's talking about resource allocation, not saying that the poor are lazy. Good lord this place turned the blowjob factory off for Elon as soon as he donated to the enemy.
Ok so how is a democrat majority going to stop him from doing business. ... ..... ....... right they don't.
How is good vs evil black and white the same as a lesser of two evils? Nuance is a thing and you should absolutely be pragmatic in politics.
Applying more pressure on the work conditions of his companies, more corporate taxation, etc.
I do genuinely believe that his goal is public good. Only a fucking brain dead moron would do what he's done with the intention of making money, and a brain dead moron couldn't have done it as successfully as he has. I'd also probably bet that he's an egotist who places way more confidence in his opinions than he should, since it's really hard to take huge financial risks without at least some degree of unjustified belief in your decision making. I think his understanding of engineering, his business competence, and his egomania are the three things that make him so good at what he does. He's good at getting money from investors to worthwhile projects. Those same things also make him really confident about things he knows fuck all about. It's really clear that he's done very little reading into politics. At the same time, I'm still kinda weirded out that the name on everyone's tongue is elon musk when there are people like Peter Thiel or the Koch brothers actively sabotaging public wellbeing for personal gain. As much as I can agree that musk has a big mouth, and I can accept that there may be validity to the claims of workplace injury mislabeling at the Tesla plant, it's hard to be like "yeah fuck musk" when those reasonable claims come paired with a lot of verifiable bullshit sourced from people who have a demonstrable financial interest in the failure of his company. It reminds me of the election, where entirely valid criticisms of Hillary were paired with "she sold our nukes to the russians" and "she shot seth rich because he saw her reptilian form". Like, I feel forced into the center because I don't want to be complicit in spreading propaganda for the trump campaign or the oil industry. Musk could be the most annoying cunt on planet earth and I'd still want his businesses to succeed as long as they're beneficial to the world. I don't care if he poses in the background as a child's being rescued from a well only to congratulate himself on twitter as long as he keeps improving renewable energy and space infrastructure. He can shitpost all he wants as long as he serves a genuine public good. But this sort of shit is where I begin to draw the line. I cannot in good conscience defend someone who supports the GOP. That is not negotiable for me.

Because you're still viewing entire parties compromised of hundreds of millions of citizens and thousands of representatives as "evil vs. lesser evil". It's still just us vs them politics. Bluntly classifying one party as "evil" and the other as "lesser evil" is just a more eloquent way of saying "good vs evil". It's not pragmatic or nuanced, it's juvenile. You should be pragmatic in politics, saying that one side is evil or the lesser evil is not being pragmatic. It's being foolish. Writing off entire parties is just dumb, because those parties are made up of individuals with their own viewpoints and goals that don't always fall in line with party politics. What you're doing isn't pragmatic, it's childish.
not in a republican presidency. also the GOP's goals directly clash with all of his business dealings, space-X almost got shut out of defense contracts by the house and their defense industry lobbiests, thr GOP want and still try to force owners of electric cars and solar panels to pay more in taxes, and they want to in general ruin the environment. Also democrats are not that unfriendly to businesses, when we had a unified supermajority government in 2009, did they socialize large swaths of industry, did they redistribute ownership of companies, did they do anything that actually really prevented companies from doing business here? No, its all rhetoric from the GOP, and conservative sphere, especially when you have a republican president and senate.
Hey man, just FYI, twitter shitposters aren't prophetic. Maybe find your moral compass more than 180 characters at a time.
right the real solution is to allow the GOP to steal supreme court appointments, launch racist propaganda campaigns casting doubt on the nationality of their political opponents, dismantle healthcare in the name of corporate profit, block, remove, and weaken protections for minority groups, officially endorse child molesters for office, wage trade wars against allied nations, and use their officially endorsed propaganda network to turn public opinion against the investigations of their own crimes and then get upset at people for pointing fingers
When all of the good, non-corrupt remaining members of the GOP are leaving the party, I think it's completely fucking safe to say that the Republican party has gone to complete shit. Stop with this false centrism and look at the actual state of the Republican party and what it has become. Do you think there is no low that a party could sink to where you could say that they are the "more evil" option? Would it have been "childish" or "juvenile" to say, as a hypothetical and not a comparison, that the Nazi Party is "evil"?
And the solution to fixing those problems is to be a divisive asshole on the internet? No, the solution is to go out and vote and not be a completely unbearable shithead about it.
29D tic-tac-toe, he donated negative money to Hillary. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109818/ee3ff318-20f3-47dd-aa0e-4f8949b218a9/2018-07-15-02-37-52.png
