I won't pretend to know if this at all relevant, but I feel it's worth pointing out that just because you play the game, doesn't mean you agree with it. It's simply the way of the society we live in that if you want to get things done, you have to put money in the right hands. And sometimes those hands belong to people you don't agree with at all. But it's either you play the game and put money in their hands, or you don't play and consequently don't do anything at all.
