No, you see, you're a hivemind because you refuse to accept their positions and make them your own. You're a hivemind because you're rejecting their hivemind.
Facepunch is left leaning, sure, but that's not the same thing as the forum being an ~echo chamber~ or ~hive mind~.
A lot of people here are posting from outside of America, that alone will result in more left-wing views being expressed because American politics are so hilariously warped towards conservatism that basic shit like universal healthcare is considered far-left extremism over there.
I'd argue that right wing posters are getting banned more frequently because the right wing, especially the alt-right, decided to adopt "triggering the libs lmao" as a key aspect of their political identity.
No shit you are going to start having trouble fitting in when your political opinions have become indistinguishable from trolling.
We have never ever respectfully disagreed with eachother because you and me are HIVE BROTHERS
How dare you assume we have never disagreed respectfully - or even disrespectfully! On this matter, we must agree to disagree. Harumph and good day to you, SIR.
Hey guys can we get back on topic I think being off-topic is bannable. Or was. 13 years ago.
It's weird also how some users see themselves as not being part of facepunch while being a part of facepunch?
Like Tempcon, a facepunch user thinks that the forum is an echo chamber. I, lambeth, also a user of facepunch disagree with them. I am not here to reinforce their beliefs, they aren't here to reinforce mine. The mods don't make the effort to maintain any sort of political viewpoint as superior to the rest like you would on certain subreddits. To my knowledge there aren't any facepunch algorithms like you would on facebook or google ensuring that you would see content catered to you specifically. It's just by the sheer nature of who posts on the forum (teenagers to like 30 year old, minus some outliers) the forum skews left or center left. Which is normal, younger people are generally more liberal than their parents or grandparents.
