A Migrant Boy Rejoins His Mother, but He's Not the Same

The food is literally rotten. Don't you dare take the argument of "well they just should've come in legally, it's THEIR fault"
cool, show me proof. burden is on you bud.
you can deny all you want but it's also okay to admit that your point of view is flawed and you need to grow to accept that you aren't always right.
What were the Japanese put into? Internment and concentration camps.
Are you saying that those weren't camps? They weren't holocaust like, you're right, but they were absolutely abominable.
Honestly Ralgo, like usual, you demonstrated your ignorance of the situation and willingness to sanction any crime as long as it comes from up high.
You say you don't support these camps, but you can't even label them correctly.
I'll pay him a coin if he actually admits he fucked up and what he said was fucked up regarding internment camp survivors and 'this not being similar at all' when there are literally such survivors stating that not only are these camps directly equatable - but that, in fact, they are worse than the camps they were in.
I'll pay him a diamond
We're literally going to pay you for a mea culpa, MrRalgoman, because we'd like to see you apologize for being such an asshole that you'd tell the internment survivors what they feel about these camps - and by extension us - rather than just listen to them.
The facts are on our side. The survivors are on our side. We will pay for you to quit your silliness and join us over here, on the actually correct side. You can either be paid to try and redeem yourself with a public apology or refuse our payment to state things which are absolutely false and without any evidence-backed merit. What will you choose?
I do not understand why whether or not these things are accurately described semantically as "concentration camps" is at all relevant to the fact that these camps are absolutely fucking terrible in the amount of psychological damage they do to those interned, regardless of whether the intent of the policy in place is merely misguided or outright malicious.
What word one uses to denote these things is completely inconsequential to the essence of the thing being denoted: A temporary prison with little regard to long-term effects of the time spent there on the inmates, even if for a short time.
it won't happen.
it's a huge problem with our country as a whole too, probably stemming from how we're educated growing up and how most people are insanely afraid of being wrong.
why admit you're wrong when your views are under a critical gaze when you can just deny deny deny and find someone else you have common ignorance with.
it's a huge recruiting technique the alt-right uses to exploit, too - convince people who think like this that they're ostracized and then make them blame something.
Facts may not dissuade him, nor respect for internment survivors, but perhaps - at least - coinage might. Everyone likes money, after all.
and the promise of coin is how trump swayed the blue collar and sucked on big business lobbies - whaddya know, we're full circle here.
i'm glad to see more people vocalizing against turds like this on facepunch - for a while I thought it was going to be a socially-unaware and generally disconnected forum forever.
You know what, fuck it, I'm upping my offer @MrRalgoman . I will also pay you a coin. That's 20 Coins now for you to admit what you said was fucked up and that you fucked up regarding the facts and evidence behind all this. How much is this issue worth to you? Let's barter.
i hope that one day your second brain cell will descend and you'll realize how fucking dumb your entire political outlook is. you're throwing the rights of thousands of abused and neglected children out the window because you just don't consider the suffering of innocents to be important. i usually hide my meaning behind obvious sarcasm and condescension, but I don't want to go over your head: fuck you, idiot.
The offer is still on the table. 20 coins to correct yourself and admit what you stated was fucked up and your facts were fucked. I have evidence which contradicts every single statement you've made in this post (no, literally, I mean literally every statement; yes, even 'shit happens') and, since you respect internment and concentration camp survivors such that you would have us respect them, it remains intensely hypocritical for you to not apologize for speaking for said survivors when they have publicly weighed in on the matter and stated that these camps are, as a point of public record, worse than the internment camps they suffered.
Walk away from this offer if you like, it will only prove that - since you're not motivated by facts, money, or even shame - that you're not even here to shitpost you're just here to shamelessly troll and have no interest whatsoever in the actual facts regarding anything political in nature.
Because he's literally dumb. There's no other way that explains it.
Agree with all of this except the requirement of violent crime for deportation. If people deserve to enter the country, we should change how naturalization works and make it attainable rather than turning a blind eye to behavior that is, simply put, illegal. Call them migrants, undocumented, foreign nationals or whatever term you'd like to dilute the issue; inherently, they've already broken a law just coming here, and that shouldn't be incentivised. That being said, I think it should be easier to apply for asylum, so they don't have to come here illegally in the first place. Also, ICE behavior is absolutely abhorrent, and officials behind this should be in turn put behind bars.
It's a waste of resources to deport someone convicted of drug possession or shoplifting
I'd just be happy to see him acknowledge the dictionary definition of concentration/internment camp that gets posted in every thread on the matter. At this point it's not simply ignorance, it's willful misinformation.
I'm just about certain he's not coming back to this thread and is just gonna post the same shit in some new thread like nothing even happened.
@MrRalgoman come on back, we have questions
There are reports of sexual abuse, and the contract is tied to a company that literally got caught trafficking children during the Balkans war. A child also died recently. Did you know that?
Don't you fucking dare put blame on the parents.
Matters like these usually take 20 to 30 years to be addressed by the courts or politicians, if they even address it at all.
So you're gonna severely downplay how fucking awful these camps are AND basically blame the parents for putting them in this situation?
Care to take a step back before what little is left of your brain decides to escape your skull?
If you want anyone to be allowed to reside here indefinitely, then drop the pretense and advocate for open borders. This non-prosecution stance just ensures illegal immigrants remain exploitable second-class citizens, only benefitting business owners who stand to profit from below-minimum-wage labor.
Either give them legal status so they can pay taxes and collect benefits like any citizen, or keep them out of the country entirely. Either they're allowed to be here, or they aren't. There shouldn't be a grey area where we turn a blind eye to people living outside the system, and I don't know of any first-world nation that takes this lax attitude towards border control.
Concentration camps in Nazi Germany started out like this. It's like cancer, at first it's small and unnoticeable but as time passes on it grows and grows until it kills the nations that lets themselves be consumed.
Don't dismantle ICE, they actually do a pretty important mission when they're not being forced by an administration to do this shit. You can very well dismantle ICE, but guess what another federal agency will start doing the work or they will make a new one.
It is the administration that is doing this, the administration needs to just fucking stop.
What's that? Sorry, I can't hear you for the orange cock in your mouth.
are you fucking kidding me
I don't see why it has to be one or the other. Obviously we need border patrol to manage customs and keep drug dealers and human traffickers out, but it's just a waste of resources to have a law enforcement agency dedicated to targeting and black bagging people in the heart of America. If there is a problem with an illegal immigrant selling drugs, let the DEA or local law enforcement decide whether or not to deport him. I don't think we should have open borders, but once they're in here, they're not hurting anyone simply by being here. Honestly I'm looking at this mostly from a fiscally conservative point of view: I think we need border patrol but it's a terrible waste of tax dollars to stalk and deport a woman who worked for under the table cash at a maid service, separating her from her natural born American children, putting further strain on social services.
It's honestly just a matter of the Republicans hating non-whites more than they hate wasteful government spending
