I remember reading this, but to me it's a false hope. It's a trend of multiple judges, it's just as likely that Gorsuch and Kavanaugh don't move at all or move slightly more right and the trend could still hold or move slightly to the right, either way still sucks. Scalia, Alito, Thomas all went more right or stayed the same. So I'm not comfortable just because over a long period of time the trend is more favorable than not.
Brett is about as fit to be Justice as Trump is to be president. This confirmation vote is going to be a very interesting affair, since there's two possible outcomes. Either the Republicans let it die, or they invoke the nuclear option again, if they go nuclear they've cemented their status as traitors to the United States, and their upcoming losses in the midterms will be significantly more severe, but they will have ensured the puppet in chief lives out the rest of his term. This is going to be significant since Republicans have demonstrated a cult like devotion to party loyalty, but in this case if they don't break it's very likely to kill the party entirely.
So we have a president that's currently under investigation for numerous criminal offenses and a potential Supreme Justice not only considers having to comply with a subpoena hypothetical, he also thinks that's enough to not answer the question.
