Chaos breaks out at the start of Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings

Normally I'd be the one arguing about how such actions would reflect on them, but that has always been because people advocate for things like rioting or trying to harass random passers-by. People who don't pay attention to what I'm saying when making these posts though are missing my real point which is about focus. You focus your protest, starting peacefully and then if it comes down to it and peace hasn't worked, you kick down doors and drag the offending parties out kicking and screaming if need be. But you have to stay focused, you don't make it a problem for random people on the street or trying to go shopping or get to work. You make a very unpleasant situation for the people who are actually causing the issue. Just punching random nazis at a count-protest does nothing but make you look bad. Punching a politician though who actually has the power to put action to their words? Thats likely to be a different story.
um they did already in the first week of Trump's presidency. the GOP has all the votes they need to confirm him and with mccain's seat now filled with a reliably partisan vote even the two moderates can't vote to stop it. that's the whole problem with lowering the bar so low is that they can pass this on absolute partisan lines and will because we have not seen a single senator ready to buck Mcconnel even the ones retiring, who oppose trump won't do it.
I fucking love Senator Harris. I'm proud to have voted for her.
Maybe bumping it up to 13 will destroy the legitimacy of the courts but I believe that already started when McConnell refused to even consider to seat Merrick Garland.
so why did they threaten him with consequences lmao
They probably don't want look divided and weak, so they said they approved the release, only because it was too late to do anything else. So until they get rid of him, they have to make it look like this was the plan all along.
The GOP can't afford to look like they have infighting going on right now, because they are afraid of losing power.
