• Misogyny could become hate crime as legal review is announced

Did you even read my part explaining the context/relevance of misogyny in comparison to misandry? I agree that both forms should be combated, but its not surprising that Misogyny takes center stage due to how much it has happened throughout most of human history.
...which has nothing to do with whether or not it's acceptable for our government to create discriminatory laws when non-discriminatory laws would be entirely adequate and non-discriminatory. Why would you ever defend a discriminatory law? We can't have those! That's the point!
Ok? Whats your point here? Cause i fully agree with a law that combats both forms of sexism. But i don't think a law that combats Misogyny is discriminatory just because it targets only one form of sexism. If you want to even it out, let this law pass and then get to work on pushing legislation for a law that combats Misandry. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out.
It provides women additional protection from something that men should absolutely also receive. Try making a law that makes it more illegal to rob a white person "because white people get robbed more" and see where it gets you.
You keep forgetting my point with context and relevancy. Its the same situation if a certain group has been persecuted in some country for a long time, and then legislation passes to help protect said group. Which was the 13th and 15th amendments in a nutshell. Where their context was mostly to stop the enslaving and silencing of the African American population. In a perfect world, a law would pass that would allow Equal laws to every single human being. But given the time and context, the laws were mostly to help out African Americans instead of every single human being in the United States at the time. Like shit takes time. Like you can't fix both problems at once here, cause one problem is more of an issue in comparison to the other. In a perfect world yes, you would make a law that stops persecution and bigotry towards every single group, gender, ethnic group, race, minority, etc. But one issue is bigger than the other here. You can't just do this shit overnight.
"Crimes committed against women for being women are worse" vs "Crimes committed against anyone based on their sex are worse" Damn this shit takes real time this is so hard
Not saying that. Where the fuck did i say "Crime against women are worse" I said, explicitly, its more common. Not worse.
To be as abrasive as possible
Like Christ i'm trying to point out why Misogyny is more relevant than Misandry. But holy mother of all that is living on this motherfucking green Earth that doesn't mean its worse. It just happens more often. Its like comparing earthquake deaths to deaths via Lightning strikes. Like they're both equally deadly/bad, but what happens more often than the other. Like if you really want to combat Misandry. Combat Misogyny so the amount of Misogyny that occurs will then be on the same level or lower than the occurrence of Misandry. So then Misandry can then be combated against. Like FFS this is like the history of Human Rights in a nutshell. You deal with the bigger problem first, and then you deal with the other problems that become more visible after the big ones are dealt with. Like during the 50s and 60s. Civil Rights for ethnic groups was a bigger issue than lets say LGBT rights. Both should have equal rights. But given the time period, Civil Rights of ethnic groups were a a lot more relevant.
Yeah, you completely missed what I was saying. Maybe I should've said it better. You're just kind of like, accepting the fact that a discriminatory law was written. You go on about how you want it to be equal but you clearly don't want it that much. You're continuously asserting that it "takes more manpower" to make this law non-discriminatory, but it requires absolutely none. Writing a law that says "{x} against women because they're women is a hate crime" is one thing. Writing a law that says "{x} against people because of the sex they are is a hate crime" is equally as difficult. Absolutely no effort should have been spent on the first, because an equal amount of effort is required for the second to be written, and not be against our standards. You are accepting it because "well it's hard man". Bullshit. You shouldn't accept this. This isn't a compromise. This is a blatantly discriminatory laws. When people are being blatantly discriminatory you don't just go "okay haha but try harder next time k?" You throw their shit out. You don't accept it. Because it's unacceptable. Is it really that difficult to agree that discriminatory laws are unacceptable?
You have no room to talk.
Please point out where i said "Tough shit, deal with it" Cause i said Misandry is as equal to Misogyny. But is overshadowed by the problems caused by Misogyny. Entirely fucking different. IN a way, i actually explained. If you want to stop Misandry. Deal with the much bigger problem at hand which is Misogyny, then once that problem has quieted down. Misandry will become more relevant and visible. Allowing it to be approached easier and what not. Like FFS if you really think i'm Misandrist. I got laughed at for being fucking Molested and practically raped by the Senior Boys in HS cause "Oh hey a boy got butt-fucked, lol"
So you agree that this shouldn't be the law? Or do you believe that we should pass discriminatory laws in some cases?
I try to treat people as nicely as I can on here. I guess that backfired because people think I'm not being genuine for some reason.
What i'm saying is that in a perfect world. There should be a law that targets Sexism in general, period. But how shit works, usually the larger problem that occurs more often is dealt with. Cause the other problems that are equal but happen less often are overshadowed by the larger problem. So deal with the Misogyny so its occurrence no longer overshadows Misandry. So then combating Misandry is much easier.
You should confront them on it or file a complaint with HR or whatever.
Okay, you can accept discriminatory laws being passed in some cases. I find that disgusting. That's probably the most we'll get out of this conversation.
Usually my suggestion in this situation is attempt to remove the gender/sex angle to it. Stuff like "Can you treat me like a normal person?" or "You know i rather just be treated like a regular co-worker." Cause in a way it shows them that you don't give a shit if someone is either a guy or gal in a workplace, so their comments on attempting to shit on you for being a dude becomes weightless and pointless.
yeah no it doesn't work like that in the real world. Trying to pull somthing like that (or going to HR who is only looking after the business's end line) will just get you canned
Well what job do you work at? Though yeah i'd avoid going to HR, or a suggestion is attempting to find a genderless angle towards it. And just say she's just being an uncooperative co-worker. Like this is what i mean, cause Misogyny happens more often, shit like this goes under the radar.
Sounds like an extraordinarily shitty place to work if they aren't receptive to complaints from their employees!
And god forbid the amount of Misandry that comes from guys shitting on other guys. I remember explaining that shit that occurred in HS to my roommates in college, followed by them laughing for 4-5 minutes straight that i got raped/molested by other dudes. That shit fucked me up for weeks.
Dude, I get what you’re saying. You’re basically explaining (not excusing, cause there is a difference) why they would focus on Misogyny rather going for sexism in general. I get that. Problem is, and I think this is what Geel is trying to say, is that explaining why means Jack-Shit when the end result is still discriminatory. Plus, the fault I have with this is that while it may help to solve one problem, it’s also going to cause a bunch more problems, including the possibility of actually causing more sexism from & to both sides. All because it focuses on only one side rather than the issue in general, which feels incredibly short-sighted, at least to me.
From where you're kneeling it must have seemed this would be a good thread... https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/241177/70848be1-6a95-49f3-bd1c-2d5aae6feb2d/image.png Truth is, this thread was gonna be a shitshow from the start.
And again. I've said that Geel's idea of making it equal for both sides and not making it one sided is a good idea and would work if it was a perfect world. But that's not how it works given my experience with dealing with it. Pretty much the only way I've figured out how to get people to understand my problem is to help out with their similar Situations and give them advice on how to deal with it. So they understand that i have dealt with similar pains and problems as well. Its a hard path, but its the only way that i've figured out to make it equal, is to show the other-side that we understand their problems as well. So they return the favor and understand that we suffer as well. Like i get everyone's point of wanting it to be equal right off the bat. But given societal norms and circumstance, its going to fall apart and mutate into something worse. Which is pretty much Incels, the crazy Feminazi types, and MGTOW in a nutshell.
Sorry, it's never the wrong time to demand that unjust laws don't get written. Changing old unjust laws? Yeah, that can take some time. But if you're trying to argue that we should allow new laws to be passed that are not just... I couldn't disagree with you more.
Cause idk, laws can be changed, modified, improved on in the future?
So because a discriminatory law might be changed in the future, we should allow it now, in its discriminatory form? The fuck?
That'd be a major yeah, nah on my part. But the fuck would i know, i'm just some Danish weirdo and you're 25 with work and a life and all. i can see how that elevates you above me in a lot of ways, lmao. Boo-hoo. sure. you keep saying that. Meanwhile people have been making 25 other posts with even better points that i don't see you making any kind of committment to responding to. Is mine truly so special or are you gearing up for a new Bachelor degree project? This angle is a cute try, but it''s not really believable in the context that i'm not the only one making meritorious responses to your shallow logic. Troll successful, i guess. You must feel good about it. He did that because you've literally asked me to show you these posts for two days now. I refused because i saw this reaction coming. he did it and lo and behold how you reacted. Oh please. you need to quit your shit. Happy birthday. I just caught you being casually elitistic based on age, class, nationality and mental health. This all played out exactly as i called it. You haven't responded to anything with any substance. You're not gonna.
Alright go attempt to pass a law where its equal. Cause guess what, it wont fucking happen. Given societal norms.
