Proposition For Ruleship: All citizens are granted govt. funded public primary education (Elementary -> High) but fully paid for first four years at any public university, trade school or apprenticeship. Only stipulation beyond good grades is attending a once a year week long course of LMAO Pics.
Admins/mods shall host yearly idiot culls
Calling this the "Facepunch" constitution convention was a mistake maybe.
rule 1: delete the forum
You idiots aren't listening. This isn't about the forums.
you don’t talk about fight club you don’t talk about fight club
Create a reparations program for citizens of skeletal descent.
Welcome to facepunch
Rule 0. This constitution will apply across the Facepunch forums.
Ahem. First, I'd like to thank the constituents of my province of Strangereal for electing me as their representative. Secondly, I would like you remind my peers that submissions are only valid if they're prefixed with a quote arrow. This means that so far, only the propositions of my fellow colleagues @smurfy , @Borealis and @Last or First can actually be ratified. I'd encourage you all to re-submit your propositions to conform to the proper standards of this convention. Hey, I can hear your grumbling over there but I don't make the rules! Learn to actually pay attention to the primer. With that said, let's get down to business. Proposition 1-A, the "I'm Not Sure How Political Systems Work but It Can't Be That Hard" Act To prevent a potential abuse of the voting system and give an equal chance to every submission to be voted on, I propose the following: Every submission shall have a minimum voting period of 24 hours to be voted on by delegates, instead of being ratified when a new thread page starts. Once that minimum voting period has elapsed, the Chairman of the Convention can - at their discretion - declare an official end to the voting window on a particular submission and announce if it had enough votes to be included in the constitution. The Chairman of the Convention shall quote the exact wording of the submission if ratified as to leave us a permanent historical record for future review. Since chairman has expressed an interest in making the voting process more exciting, also considering that at times the number of delegates actually voting on a piece of legislation can be too low to go above the "10 agrees" threshold and to encourage more delegates to participate in the submission process, I propose the following: There shall be no minimum "agree" rating threshold for a submission to be ratified but by the end of the voting period the number of "agree" ratings need to exceed the number of "disagree" ratings. If the vote is too close to call, the Chairman of the Convention can - at their discretion - extend the voting period. Finally, to make my fellow delegates more responsible (read: actually pay attention) about how they give their submission for review and to prevent any abuse of the editing function which could enable the altering of a submission even after my fellow delegates and I have already voted on it, I propose the following: A specific submission, once given out for a vote cannot be altered as it will be considered under review. If a submission is altered in any way (a.k.a. the "edited" tag appears on the post) - including to correct a typo or to conform it to convention standards - it shall be considered invalid. However, the submission can simply be given out again for review as many times as necessary. Basically, I give out this proposition to eliminate any kind of editing fuckery, give an equal chance to every submission and to also actually make you responsible to properly read the OP and follow the rules like a proper government would. Yes, a lot of it hinges on technicalities for what can be considered valid or not and it would suck to have your wicked proposition be considered invalid because your forgot your arrow quotes or you mistyped "a ban on porn" as "a pan on born" but isn't being asinine about technicalities and going all "GOTCHA!" on your fellow delegates half the fun of doing this? The way I see it, "Facepunch" is to "Facepunchia" what "America" is to "The United States of America".
idiot culls will return
The articles in this constitution shall always be held as tentative, as a changing world requires a founding document to be able to adjust to the needs of its citizens in an agile and specific way. A selection of randomly picked citizens who are literate and have finished primary education shall convene every 10 years to evaluate the impact of this founding document on the world as it exists at the time of that convention. These citizens shall be picked using a computer which will select without any political bias or gerrymandering, and will ensure fair geographic distribution.
M8 have you seen the shit i've been posting in Schindler's Fist? I got corrupted a long time ago :v
OOPS
Is this some sort of elaborated idiot cull to show that Polidicks does nothing but attract unbridled shitposters?
actually it shows that nobody bothers to read the OP
Rule 103: All able bodied citizens at the age of 16 are required and expected to enter into a branch of military service for a period of no fewer that 6 months. Rule 104: All legal ctizens are provided protection under the state and shall never be unduly harassed/threatened/harmed or discriminated against without proper and immediate legal recourse.
Article 6: Taco Tuesday is henceforth established.
This is polidicks, expecting people to read the OP before posting is incredibly naive.
We keep losing people since the move, so we have to downsize to compensate
originally was going to say ten posters since "Deci" in Decimation. But 5 is more realistic. So i guess it would be Pentamation
Ah, I see you've adopted the American legislative style "hey here's a really good thing people actually want, but if you want it you have to have this really shitty thing nobody in their right mind would ever want". A bold move.
We've got to keep up with how the rest of the world's governments seem to be run
rule 138: the leader of each chamber shall be elected from a supermajority in each chamber; if a supermajority cannot be obtained then the leader shall be drawn from a hat and will serve in that capacity for no less than one legislative session until another vote can be called. Any legislative committee established by the larger legislative body will also be bound by this rule. A legislative session will be established as lasting one day unless extended by an agreement from the supermajority of the body.
Proposal to make the Facepunch Constitution Convention's official Twitter hashtag #FCCYou
Article 3 Regardless if one can afford legal counsel or not, a citizen shall always have the option of choosing a public defender whose salary is provided by the state.
The Filliboxer: Any amendment must have at least twice as many agrees as it has boxes to be included in the constitution.
it is now
I submit that gold members should receive state tendies for life I also submit that to become a gold member you must have served in the military
