It's really quite the distinction to see this hearing to ford's. Ford did her best to be calm about answering questions with brevity while Kavenaugh seems to be auditioning for a spot at an improv club. I just fail to see how anyone could see Brett or any Republican at the hearing as doing this for genuine truth or justice.

I see a lot of people who seem surprised that this is the way the Republican party is handling this So I supposed that's as good an excuse as any to call back to one of my many long posts about why you should not be surprised at all because that is just what this party is It's full of links that call back to a whole chain of other posts. If Republicans truly care about due process, if they truly care about giving Brett Kavanaugh fair and just treatment, if they truly care about getting to the truth of the matter, they will immediately subpoena Mark Judge and compel him to testify under oath. Furthermore, there's nothing stopping the federal government from re-opening the FBI background check on Brett Kavanaugh, and immediately investigating Dr. Ford's allegations.
