Its sad that a rapist will overturn Roe vs. Wade, our democracy is fucked
This has brought out the absolute worst in men and shown how far we have to go. It seems MeToo has completely bypassed the political sector. Not only is this group of power-hungry old men somewhat unsurprisingly ignoring and demeaning a rape victim, but her own father has a level of apathy towards her that makes my skin crawl.

Also the only group Republicans listen to is the Federalist Society, they don't give a fuck about the ABA when it doesn't suit them.

No, this is true, the main high-profile effect it had was on the careers of a fair few powerful men in the entertainment sector. And I should hope it resulted in a higher level of reports and a wave of courage from the victims of abuse to report their ordeals; in the background I hope there are a lot more cases coming up now than there have been previously (because of a higher number of reports, not of occurrences). But the right in America has gone so far in defence of Trump and their own persistence of power as the blue wave approaches that they will devalue every aspect of American society and justice, especially trying to push down any progress made on women's, gay and minority rights. I suppose it's not at all surprising that the many perverts of Hollywood getting their arses handed to them had no effect on the many perverts of DC.

Although clearly there is a major case here for both 'believing women' and on the other side the core tenet of justice of innocent until proven guilty, I also think that we in the centre and left are really hoping that the allegations are true and disqualify Kavanaugh because of protecting Roe v Wade, and also preventing the horrific effects of a Conservative majority on the Supreme Court just as things seemed to be getting better for all the groups I listed above, under Obama and his SC. This is helped by the fact that both these accusations and Roe v Wade are essentially a bunch of men deciding whether to give a shit about women or not.
Again they quote Biden. I wonder what would happen if he were to say something about his earlier statement about the FBI.

Five of our members, all survivors of sexual assault, are now briefly meeting with security before meeting with Collins. They will mount a last ditch attempt to convince Collins to vote no on Kavanaugh.

Brett will be declaring reform unconstitutional, and confirming corporations have more rights than people, for 35 years.
The only legal option for this country's continued survival is to block the Senate vote until after the new terms begin. Kavanaugh has sworn that he will obstruct justice to defend the Traitor in Chief, if he gets on the bench impeachment will be impossible and American democracy will effectively die.
i'm sure the way to win this is to sit at home and write angry messages on various platforms instead of actually going out and doing something about it
