It's about to start. Here's hoping some Republicans flipped.
Welcome to american. Where the rules don't matter and you get away with anything as long as you are a Republican.
I swear on everything good in the world if a justice dies in 2020, if the turtle cunt rushes another asshole through before the election, he will be the worst senator in US history.
Wonder what kind of juicy political favors the people on the fence could get from the Democrats by turning on this.
A lot. But, hopefully, nothing that important.
Who is there for him to beat? The only guy that comes to mind is Preston Brooks, the dude that caned Sumner after one of his speeches against slavery.
His legacy should be erased and his title stripped.
Are you seriously implying he isn't already?
general respect for not being a complete dick.
politics shouldnt be fueled by favors, thats how we got here
Yeah but these dudes are basically gonna cut ties with the Republicans if they flip on this since its so high profile. So they might be more willing to do it if they knew there was a life raft waiting for them when they jumped ship.
Party over country
Collins is up for reelection in 2020, they could cut a deal to not support a Democrat candidate if she votes no, pretty shady though
There's talk that the FBI investigation will be reopened.
I hope it's really happening. Delaying the entire fucking thing for the investigation that should've already happened, that is.
But even if it doesn't, Kavanaugh is unfit to serve fries, let alone the highest judicial office, after vowing revenge against Democrats for... making his job interview difficult by bringing up shit he allegedly did. This is not Supreme Court Justice material.
But would an investigation even change the vote? We already have senators saying they don't care if he was a Rapist.
Yeah.
A week long investigation.
Posturing at the best
The one week investigation would be the right thing for all involved. I know it won't change minds and opinions (the Biden quote will be used endlessly if nothing is found) but pulling back from this precipice might save a shred of decency for everyone involved in this mess, and more importantly bring a bit of decency back to the Senate.
So who called it in to delay it a week?
If they can get it past October 5 he won't be able to rule on the state/federal prosecution case as he wouldn't be there to hear oral argument
My hearts beating out of my chest right now. I feel like I'm gonna pass out this is too tense
Flake
This new Ace Attorney game is wild.
Kinda great that the guy who's always on the fence for the Republicans is named Flake.
