I think their main mistake in getting a prosecutor to question her is that the prosecutor isn't a soulless husk of a human ready to die for their party. She's prodding for holes and asking basic questions about what happened, which is pretty standard prosecutor stuff. But she's not a politician with an angle, at least that's not how it seems so far.

IMO polygraphy results should never be used in a courtroom or released to the public. Measuring stress response in response to verbal stimulus is a useful tool in specific applications, but it's not a lie detector and the public has no idea how to appropriately interpret the data.
Trump probably expecting like it was going to be like Tucker Carlson and Ford would just collapse like a dumb liberal.

Mitch McConnell did, when he said they were going to push through Kavanaugh regardless before the other accusations came to light. He knew these claims were credible.

Oh I agree, but you think he would of said something like "we're not going to because the results aren't always accurate" but he clearly just wanted to hush hush on the idea and act like it was never a topic.
She even briefly addressed this in her testimony. Having a vacation at the end of the flight is one thing. Going on TV to testify about a traumatic event in your life and opening yourself to attack from shitheads like Donald Trump Jr. is another. And she still ended up coming to DC.
