I just disagree that he committed perjury in the way you describe. Kavenaugh never said that Ford's friend didn't believe her. He simply stated "She said it never happened". Which, according to her recollections, is true.

That's not how that works, but good try. "refuted" simply means that one bit of evidence is cancelled out by other evidence. It doesn't have to be a direct accusation of falsehood.
