(Opinion) How Brett Kavanaugh could harm the legitimacy of the Supreme Court

So? He could be right or wrong. People are looking for anything to make sure this man doesn't get elected and it's honestly pathetic.
What you say in and out of the courtroom has importance for a judge. Because of what he said Brett will be asked to recuse himself every time there's anything remotely political because of what appears to be
bias.
Kavanaugh has a history of having an unjudicial temperament (federal judges have a code that always expects them to stay cool) even back when he was nominated to the DC circuit, the American Bar
Association even considered lowering his rating because of his anger back then.
In fact my point is proven right now, instead of a counter argument I am more likely to get butthurt people trying to drown me with boxes because I dare disagree with their objectively wrong beliefs.
One of the most important judges in the country should not lose his shit at things like that and start spouting things off that actually have consequences. There is a reason judges have the ability to recuse, for
things they are aware they are bias towards, and Brett demonstrated as he did in 1998 that he is biased against the Clintons.
H shouldn't be upset that someone falsely accused him of rape and because of that literally millions of people thought (and still think) he is a horrible person while having to go through a lengthy processes that went through his old dirty laundry in front of hundreds of millions of people? Let's see you keep your cool under such a situation, god forbid a person get angry. This is just bullshit coming out because people are mad that he wasn't found guilty and will try anything to try to make him not judge.
His job literally recommends that he not get angry. The Constitution expressley says that judges serve doing good behavior, and the federal judge code of conduct judges should never express impropriety or
do things to harm the legitimacy of the court. The Supreme Court doesn't follow said code of conduct but Brett will still be asked to recuse himself all the time because of his outburst.
He should have appeared with a lawyer to advise him and help keep his cool. His comments did nothing to help him.
He wasn't acting as judge during his own trial, he is allowed to get angry in his personal life.
Also you haven't seen very many judges, I have been in court many times and judges get angry quite often, especially at people who are preventing court procedure from going smoothly. Face it, you are grasping at straws and we both know it's not going to work.

All times, off duty or not. Especially with millions of people watching him. A federal judge thought the resulting ethics complaints were valid and send them to the Chief Justice.
Let me put it to you in a way you might understand.
The way Kavanaugh behaved during his hearing would probably result in contempt of court if someone treated him that way in his own courtroom. Yelling at and talking back to Senators, refusing to answer questions, and "answering" questions by asking questions back are behaviours unfitting for a judge, let alone a SCOTUS judge. He can act like a shitter all he wants in private; a televised hearing in front of the Senate is far from private.
Also, there's significant evidence to suggest that Kavanaugh repeatedly lied under oath -- and I'm not talking about allegations of sexual assault here. Why should a judge who perjures himself under oath before the Senate be given a promotion? What precedent does this set for the highest court in the USA?
A hearing before the Senate to determine if he should be confirmed to the SCOTUS is not his personal life, it's a job interview. If he went home and ranted and kicked a wall, fine, but the way he acted in the spotlight is disgraceful.
If only he was "off duty".
Tell you what, next time you're in a job interview, tell the interviewer(s) that if they don't hire you it's a plot against you and there will be consequences. Don't blame me if you get escorted out of the interview on the spot by security and warned to never contact them again. After all, you were "off duty" so no problem, right?
"Nor convey or permit others to convey the impression that they are in a special position to influence the judge". This has not happened
"A judge should not allow family, social, political, financial, or other relationships to influence judicial conduct" He has not. Are you saying he isn't allowed to have his own personal beliefs? Are you insane?
His temper hasn't be shown to impair his ability to serve as a judge. Ever hear the saying, mountains from molehills? By your strict guidelines most if not all federal judges wouldn't have gotten their seat long ago.
He said "Democrats will regret this for decades", I think it's reasonable that the would be tempted by his "mistreatment from Democrats" to influence his jurisprudence.
It is when it involves rape charges and going through his personal life. If this were a private job interview that would be different, this was a public spectacle where he was falsely accused of rape. How dare he be upset!
If this was a normal court case it likely would have been thrown out do to lack of evidence.
I want to know what job interview I would be in where I was getting accused of rape in front of millions of people. I get it, you don't want this guy to be a judge but use your brain.
Imagine a job interview where a woman that you worked with at a seperate company in the past said you sexually harassed her, and you acted disrespectful and crass to the manager.
no, how about instead I will imagine being viewed by millions of people as a person falsely accuses me of raping multiple women, I then have to go through this "interview" for days on end as they try to tear me down and lie about me just to make sure I don't become a judge. Let's see you be completely happy with that. I would personally be upset and likely so would you.
These arguments are garbage. If he was so upset about the accusations, why did he resist endorsing an FBI investigation that would clear his name and disarm the "liberal conspiracy" against him if he's as innocent as he claims? He claims to have been an absolute boy scout, and then subsequently admitted to underage drinking while falsely claiming that he was legally of age to drink in Maryland. By the way, he really likes beer.
In case you didn't notice, I'm Canadian, Kavanaugh has absolutely no power over me. I think he's totally unfit for office because he demonstrated himself to be, by his actions as a mature adult. And there were concerns about him in 2006 as well. Just like now, Republicans ignored everything in favour of pushing their boy through then, too.
He's also almost certainly lied under oath about a dozen or more things that he has done as part of his adult career. Lying under oath to Congress is a crime, and perjury is a felony in most US states. Putting a felon on the SCOTUS to own the libs, what a wonderful country.
And Kavanaugh has views that are extreme even for conservative jurists. He thinks presidents should be immune from investigations while in office (), thinks people should be able to be held indefinitely
pending trial (against the 4th Amendment), thinks the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is inconstitutional, and as an appeals judge dissented in allowing an immigrant teen girl to be able to get an abortion.
Because that could have taken a lot of time which could have hurt his chances of becoming judge.
He is and the courts admit it. There is pretty much no proof he raped those women.
No they aren't, let's see you keep your cool under false accusations of rape, let alone having millions and millions of people then think you did in fact do it.
A requirement of Kavanaugh's job and the job he was being confirmed for is to avoid the appearance of impropriety, in addition to impropriety itself.
Yelling at Senators and evading questions while under oath, while claiming the whole opposition against him is a Clinton revenge conspiracy, is hardly proper. And "boohoo he's suffering character assassination with these false rape allegations" is NOT an excuse, because he's expected to be better than the average person. He needs to be calm, cool, and collected.
And fuck me he was nothing close to calm and collected when the Democrats asked him anything at all.
Since they attended school at the same time and people from the schools mingled it's more appropirate that the accusing woman worked for a company right next door, when people from both compaies are at a
Christmas party,
Boy, I even predicted your next shitty argument. I'm bored now.
Oh, so he can't be elected because his personal political views are "extreme". That's totally an objective measure and we should make sure we don't elect judges that have unpopular political views.
Judges are supposed to be non-partisan, so yes?
If a Democrat-President-nominated Supreme Court nominee declared they intended to overturn the second amendment, ban and confiscate all guns from the populace, and ban religion, they should get shitcanned as fast as Bart O'Kavanaugh should've been but wasn't.
Why even bother arguing if you are going to quit as soon as I argue back? You are acting all smug but in reality your post isn't even an argument, you are just acting edgy.
If this is just a Deep State ploy concocted by Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama in a bunker somewhere, why didn't they deploy it against Gorsuch?
Glass houses, dude.
He did have some accusations of plagiarism but they didn't get much attention afaik.
No it's not at all. You don't seem to understand what having a job is like if you think an accusation from a random person from school is the same as a business, especially one you worked at.
Oh, so then I guess the last 50 judges shouldn't have been elected because they were apart of the democrat or republican party. Your argument can be applied to basically any judge. It's so clear you just don't want the guy to be judge when you have to make arguments this bad.
It helps to actually read the post I made that predictively replied to you instead of ignoring it in favour of calling me a quitter who won't argue. My post puts forward an argument, please take your hands off the keyboard and put them in your pockets while you re-read it over until you work it out.
Never said it was.
All of my posts have been arguments. Even if you disagree with them don't compare me to an idiot trying to make an excuse not to argue.
Allegory, what do you think a guy from another school that mingles with your own sexually assaulting you translates to in the business world then?
