That, and being more busy screaming impotently into the void while not even addressing any sort of issues that lost them crucial states in the past few years makes it feel to me that the Dems really haven't learned everything at all from 2016. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they choke it massively again next month, especially after kicking off this completely unneeded shitshow with Kavanaugh. Signalling that you would do away with due process and ''innocent until proven guilty'' purely for your own political goals seems like a very good way to make everyone sitting on the fence vote against you. And that's not even getting into how hard it galvanised the Reps merely a month before the midterms. I seriously don't get why the Dems expect any ''NeverTrumpers'' still left to do them a favor, all what's left of those is the trio of bald frauds named Kristol, Wilson and McMullin, and the only one who had any clout has been six feet underground for a solid month already. Not that that guy was much of a winner anyway, but that's why the Dems loved him. Unfortunately for the Dems, principled losing has gone out of style hard since three years ago within the Republican Party, and as it turns out, teaching them, both voters and senators, how to actually win does fire up their base far, far more than ''Let's lose in a principled way like a goddamn pussy'' ever did.
I mean, this is kind of working as intended though.
of course when the dust settles. You show up.
I just heard the news and hopped into this thread so I have no idea what people are discussing or arguing about etc, but I just want to say I am so fucking upset and so disgusted and I don't know anymore FUCK
I directly call out individuals or comment about ratings extremely rarely but, Yo Jordax, you rated funny a post that very may well be from someone who has suffered sexual harassment and abuse, who is seeing a person confirmed to one of the highest positions in the country amid not just allegations of those things, but proven statements from himself that show he's not fit for the job.
I'd say that whether or not he did it is irrelevant when he himself has said that he won't work to uphold the law and will instead use the power of the supreme court for his own political gain. But it's becoming apparent that there's no counterpoint to this point because every time I bring it up I get a bunch of agreement and no response from the people I replied to.
Yeah I don't think they care. None of the people that are doing it care. They are just enjoying watching all the epic owned libs.
I'm sure the earth could be entirely on fire due to trump's policies and Jordax wouldn't give a shit because it would upset the libs @Jordax dude, Winning is not the only thing that matters.
Hey, ain't I allowed to be busy with other things during the week? I could have mentioned earlier that ''Pissing off a Rep-picked Supreme Court with false allegations pick to own the Reps'' is a piss-poor idea, seeing how Clarence Thomas swung the furthest right of anyone on the court afterwards and hasn't ever really softened up even 27 years later, yet somehow the Dems thought that attempting that again would somehow end up well for them this time around.
Nothing to steal their thunder quite like voting. I cannot stress heavily enough how important these midterm elections are. If there's something positive about the past few years, it's the fact that it's made the American electorate actually start giving half a fuck about midterm elections again. That might be a net positive in the long run honestly.
You're trying to make a rat feel guilty for shitting on the floor. Even if it could understand, it wouldn't care.
I seriously doubt Thomas is conservative because he's butthurt about the confirmation hearings. He wouldn't go to the extent of helping suppress the minority vote for that.
Would you consider Sotomayor to be a valid supreme court pick if she had gone on record saying that she is going to place the Republican party on her shit-list following the difficulties present in her confirmation hearing?
Trample over the rights of millions to own the libs
I'm not sure what the big deal over the whole rape thing is, with a self-proclaimed rapist in office, I didn't think Republicans had any problem with that.
Personal wise. It sucks seeing a loved one fall deeper into this ideology. My mom can't tell you the first thing about politics but she just knows democrats are supposed to be bad because taxes. And her boyfriend who is your stereotypical Republican middle age white Texan is driving her deeper. And there is nothing I can do about it cause even mentioning politics around her pisses her off cause "Damn liberals". How can I make someone see something that doesn't want to see it?
What the fuck is wrong with America, seriously. There's an absolutely massive voting base that support these assholes too. You guys are fucked, may as well haul ass to a better country.
America is struggling to change its political traditions, which is complicated by how internally diverse and stratified the society is since that creates vastly differing stakes in that change. We are essentially trying to craft a postcolonial modern society from a colonial one where the republic was based on an earlier interpretation of liberalism that appears reactionary to us today, at least compared to the rest of the West.
i'm primarily a lurker and have extreme anxiety (even when it comes to posting on a fucking internet forum), so i drafted 3+ versions of this before i decided i just want to say: please please please USA folks, get out and vote. Check your election/registration deadlines and get on it. It matters. And F U C K anyone who supports Kavanaugh or Trump or any of this facist bullshit.
I just remembered. The night of the election, I went to see a movie from Russia called Leviathan, which is about corruption in Russia. When I came out of the theater, they had announced that Trump has won
no joke, the night of the election, one of my cats had to go the animal ER because of an asthma attack and we legit thought she was going to die (that's what they told us, but she made it through and she is very sassy and fine right now). like goddamn though.
I'll try to show Jordax something I hope makes them understand why people are fearful of Kavanaugh being appointed. The poster Jordax rated funny and many others may have been sexually harassed or abused. Even if one thinks Kavanaugh is innocent and he exonerated himself in the testimony, the way he conducted himself may certainly appear like he's not to people who have suffered abuse, regardless of whether is conduct is unbecoming of a judge. Trump, Kavanaugh, and others are showing that potentially being a sexual abuser isn't enough for Republicans to pull support, and now alleged abusers hold the presidency, and two of the nine seats of the Supreme Court. Even if they are all innocent this may be seriously frightening for people who might see their own abusers in Trump and Kavanaugh and others.
Plus, imagine what Kavanaugh will do when it comes to SCOTUS cases relating to Women's rights. Somehow, I don't think "I like beer" is a good comfort to us that reassure women will be treated fairly and equally.
He won't be able to do shit about women if that equal rights amendment gets ratified by the Virginia legislature, then the Archivist can add it as the 28th without congressional approval.
Yeah, they don't care. That doesn't mean anything to them. They think cruelty is admirable and suffering is worthy of ridicule.
Electing someone who is an alleged sexual abuser whose investigation thereof was horribly incomplete and inconsistent is nowhere near comparable to electing a completely legitimate politician that you just don't like.

Any judge who is influenced by the way they are treated in the confirmation process is a shitty, shitty judge. This idea of retribution and "what goes around comes around" is disgusting. Don't criticize them, they might take revenge on you! A judge is supposed to be above that petty garbage.
we really got those libtards boys!!!!!! taking that dub!!!!!!!! time to hold out for the great flush when we get all these shitstains out of office and into jail.
If someone acted as shitty and confrontational to Kav in court as he did to the Democrat senators he'd call the bailiff on em.
