The "Hitler salute" was a common salute used by many countries until the Nazis ruined it. The Swastika existed in many cultures until the Nazis ruined it. A big part of fascism is taking well known symbols and trying to take ownership of them.

I read the article and watched some videos on the subject. The proud boys are assholes, they start plenty of fights, even though antifa through the bottle first, the proud boys should not have kept kicking after they were down. Don't mistake me for someone who roots for those degenerates.
My comments were directed at the image painting Antifa as a group who are just trying to stop those who "want to kill millions of people". I'm just still trying to understand how Gavin and the others like him "want to kill millions of people". I don't defend a single thing of anyone on the right, but I don't think Antifa's tactics are in any way beneficial. I'm very open to being told I'm wrong, and I'm trying to understand everyones position.
I think both sides are pretty bad, but I don't think Antifa is some noble group ridding America of literal nazis when they indiscriminately attack buildings and people on the street.

So why does Antifa waste their time smashing windows and attacking free speech events if there are indeed a small group of people calling for literal genocide. Like most of the incidents that antifa are involved in have nothing to do with genocide. Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin, Brett Weinstein, for all their faults, have never even suggested genocide, so why does antifa want to destroy their events?
I had this fight with Tudd way back when, but Patriot Prayer is not a pure free speech group. They put on a facade of just being an innocent conservative group, and make sure that the organization itself does not make far-right statements, but their membership and their rallies have and do act as safe spaces for far-right people to hide behind, and to do violence. At best they tolerate fascists and the like, but I would say it's more accurate to say they camouflage them.
You should stop drinking the alt-right kool-aid and realize that anyone can be Antifa, and some of them will be shitty. Doesn't mean all of them are, and no, this is not comparable to fascists. They aren't equally as bad.

Because Antifa isn't some organized group with a leader like The Proud Boys or any other similarly named militant group. Anyone can wear a black jacket and red mask and be Antifa. That's why most Antifa members who actually end up charged with something after an event are college students, they mainly just want an excuse to smash shit and morally justify it. The whole "anonymous" thing with Antifa also doesn't help lend itself to being anything other than a gathering of likeminded people who show up to smash stuff and fight whoever their enemy of that day is and this also causes their movement to be ineffectual and lack validity, which makes the desperate attempts from right leaning news sites and public figures even more gross.

The alt right make statements like "They're attacking our free speech", "there were only like three swastika flags", "We are only trying to protect the white race" because they know they have to hide their extremism. Trying to ignore their real intentions is pretty retarded, because they aren't that good at hiding them.
However uncivilized Antifa is, don't minimize what the alt-right really is with shit like "Both sides are bad", "What about", and "Look at what the left is doing".
