• Revealed: EU's attempt to control Britain's tax policies after Brexit

Free trade without free movement and shared regulations would undermine the internal market. I'm sure the EU is fine with free trade, but May is asking for it on terms that no one else is getting.
May is asking for all the benefits of being part of the EU, without any of the obligations to give anything in return. That's never going to happen.
I'm not an economist so I recommend you read these two pages instead of relying on my interpretation: https://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/CBP-7851 https://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN01942 Note that services can also be exported, with 40% of UK's exports to EU being services in 2017. Also note that while the EU has a trade surplus with the UK and accounts for 53% of UK imports, in terms of a percentage, the UK still exports more to the EU than it imports (UK counts for roughly 7% of French and German exports, 11% of Dutch and 5% of Italian, which are the top 4 EU exporters above Britain; while EU counts for 44% of British exports).
You know I’ve only just realised that in typical boilrig fashion the source contradicts the anti-EU rhetoric. The EU wants the UK to not slash corporate tax rates (again) to avoid the UK becoming even more of a tax haven. Yknow, cutting tax rates for companies who have already been getting away with paying zero tax at all. Is this how Britain is supposed to become “great” again? By allowing even more corporations to come here, pay no tax, pay shitty wages and treat their employees like living dirt? Having more jobs available doesn’t mean shit if people’s wages can’t cover the basic cost of living. I live in an area where massive corporations control most of the jobs. And it’s fucking shit. At any of these places, if you become a liability, if you try to exercise your rights as a worker, you DARE to suffer from any kind of mental illness, then they’ll scrape you off of their boot in a heartbeat. Where do you go after that? Straight to another corporation to start the cycle again. And Brexiteers like Boris, like Mogglepops, like Farage, they want to hand more power to these companies. They want indentured servitude in all but name. I didn’t fully understand the term “wage slave” until I started working for a few years, but I do now and it sickens me that our own government is working towards making that a reality. In short: Well done, you played your self.
guys brexit is good ok trust me i am australian
do you get something out of continuously shitposting brexit stuff? No honestly, do you get a sexual kick out of it, were you bullied at school, do your friends not go to the pub anymore? You post these threads knowing full well that 90% of FP will respond negatively to it, you are consistently the ONLY PERSON that harbours these views, you vehemently defend it by going out of your way to "debate" with the users here with the prowess and ability of an oxygen-starved preteen. You've pretty much single handedly stifled any remotely interesting debate on Brexit because you are "that guy". You spoil it for literally everyone. The only view you've changed of any users here is just how negatively they view you. Well, maybe apart from that one guy who claimed Hitler was a socialist, who looks like a bit of a sociopath. I know you're a troll, but surely this must be frustrating at this point? Not remotely tiresome or annoying? You must have a really, really boring life if this is the highlight of your day.
Then it's pretty obvious after all. Thanks.
