NAACP claiming old voting machines incorrectly registering votes in Georgia

From my understanding there's typically multiple people watching the ballot counters in those situations. So not only would falsifying votes be very limited in number by one person but they'd also have to escape the notice of those overseeing the count. And I know that in places like my state overseeing the count is basically a completely public thing for transparency.
Is super-blatant bullshit like this the reason you're not allowed to photograph your ballot?
Most likely not. If you were allowed to photograph your ballot you could be coerced to vote a certain way and take a photo as proof. This is why anonymity is important for the voting process: if nobody can verify how you voted, then there is no way to coerce you to vote a certain way.
because, with minimal oversight, they won't?

I hope everyone responsible for this shitstorm is jailed for a long, long time. This is unforgivable.
I don't know if there's any law making what's happening illegal. If a law is passed making it illegal they won't go to jail because of ex post facto, until they do it again in a future election
Like theres no fucking way this is some glitch a voting application would be the god damn easiest thing to program. Russia or GOP fixing change my mind. shame on the GOP for pushing the “millions of illgeal mexicans”voted illegally in California” and pulling this shit either intentionally or out of pure stupidity.
It's something they're aware of but either don't care enough to fix, or don't have enough money to fix from the Republican state government cutting spending for everything. They probably think it's "acceptable risk"
since only a few hundred or thousand people will be affected by this.
...How will knowing how others voted coerce people to vote a certain way? Like I can understand not allowing you plaster it all over the place like "HAAAAAY JUS' VOTED Y'ALL!!!" on Instagram, but for blatantly criminal poll-fuckery like this, it should be allowed for documenting purposes.
Not criminal anymore after a SCOTUS ruling about Ohio a few months ago.
I thought Texas was one of the richer american states
The elections officials aren't given enough money from the GOP state legislature to update the voting machines. Or the machines are run by the counties which have even less money.
If I were to bribe or threaten you to vote for candidate X I have no way of actually knowing that you did as I asked because the vote is anonymous. At that point, why would I bother with those kind of tactics if I cannot even verify if they work? Without anonymity an employer could, for example, demand proof that you voted for their favored candidate to get the job/benefits/whatever.
I do agree that in cases of poll-fuckery there should be exception to this rule. The integrity of the vote is important and blatant vote rigging like this should be responded with an investigation at the very least.
im just gonna put this here
simpsons always relevant
