Trump administration wants to remove 'gender' from UN human rights documents

Man, sure is cool to see everything I am be erased thanos style by the GOP. Sure does much to help the already crippling depression I’m sure most of us share. I’d go for a CCW(that’s a concealed carry weapon, right? I’m guessing that’s what that means.), but I don’t frankly trust myself with a gun in the slightest. I do have my trusty weeb katanas that are kind of sharp, and a homemade wooden club. Should I invest in some like, pepper spray or something? Guns scare me. Especially in my hands.
I'd buy a gun if I can trust myself to not eat it down the line (I can't)
N-no you don't actually need guns to defend yourself from transphobes guys stop
Nothing Trump or anyone else can ever do will erase you. Pepper spray works well.
That will show those social justice warriors by uh disagreeing with universally agreed upon human rights
If anything I think it's going to end up like someone else said earlier on a different thread. Once minorities start using guns to defend their rights, then the GOP will probably shift their stance to being pro "gun control" as they have done in the past. Fuck that.
It's a bit complicated. Overall I'd say find whatever you're most comfortable with and do some of your own research to find what works. With that said I don't think it's a good idea to go out and rush into things out of fear or duress because that can lead to bad decisions.
I can't stress this part enough: A gun isn't the end-all be-all of self defense. Defending yourself doesn't mean you have to fight someone and it's FAR more important to have the right state of mind. By this I mean having situational awareness at all times and being able to get out of a bad situation before it happens. That is the ideal solution, but the reason people sometimes carry guns is because escaping without using force isn't always a viable option.
But still my main point is you shouldn't rush out to buy weapons/self defense gear out of fear for your life, because it's far more important to be informed and plan ahead. Guns aren't always an appropriate option for many people, as carrying one is a huge responsibility which opens you up to a lot of liability if anything goes wrong. It's not something a person should do because they feel compelled to, but more because they want to.
Out of the non firearms options you mentioned I'm not really the authority on self defense tools, but I'm pretty sure it's much easier to carry and conceal pepper spray on your person than a freaking sword or club . BUT MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE LAWS OF YOUR STATE FIRST! I think there are some places where things like pepper spray may not be legal. Also from what I hear, the tasers available for civilians are unreliable as hell, so it's generally better to go with the spray.
If you're really interested in guns though and it isn't just the fear influencing you into considering one, it would probably be a good idea to get someone you know and are comfortable with to take you to a shooting range and start with some .22 caliber weapons just to get a feel and handling of guns. It's normal to be nervous/scared around guns when you first start out. The first thing I shot was a Beretta M9 which is just a 9mm (not very big in terms of guns and fairly basic) and my first impression was OH SHIT WHY ARE GUNS SO LOUD EVEN WITH EAR PROTECTION. Actually I'm still uncomfortable with the loudness.
This is why suppressors need to be deregulated.
