http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny-news-spokane-politician-matt-shea-biblical-war-manifesto-20181031-story.html A Washington state GOP politician is facing fallout after he authored a chilling “Biblical Basis for War” manifesto that calls for an end to abortions and same-sex marriage. Matt Shea, a four-term rep from Spokane who wants the eastern half of Washington to become a 51st state called Liberty, recently admitted in a Facebook Live video that he created the document. The four-page document, leaked online by Spokane resident Tanner Rowe, includes multiple biblical citations and says vanquished enemies must “stop all abortions,” disavow Communism, prohibit same-sex marriage and “obey Biblical law.” “If they do not yield – kill all males,” the document reads. Spokane Public Radio reported Tuesday that several Shea campaign contributors were reassessing their support of the candidate. “His beliefs do not reflect the views and values of our organization, member credit unions, or customers,” Lynn Heider, a spokeswoman for The Northwest Credit Union, told the NPR member station. The credit union’s PAC made a $1,000 donation to Shea this year but reportedly wants the money back. Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich told The Spokesman-Review newspaper that he forwarded the manifesto to the FBI for possible investigation. “The document Mr. Shea wrote is not a Sunday school project or an academic study,” Knezovich wrote in an email to the newspaper. “It is a ‘how to’ manual consistent with the ideology and operating philosophy of the Christian Identity/Aryan Nations movement and the Redoubt movement of the 1990s.” “The goal of these groups has always been to create a white homeland consisting of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon and Washington,” Knezovich wrote. “The ideas presented in the ( biblical war) document are how these groups intend to seize control, by force, should there be a governmental collapse or civil war.” Shea said in his Facebook Live video that he was not promoting violence with the document and that its contents had been taken out of context. He said the “counter-state” was “working overtime” to slander him though a “Maoist insurgency model” ahead of the midterms. He also argued the U.S. is indisputably a “Christian nation” and said the two main counter-states threatening its survival are the “Marxists” and “Islamists.” Shea blasted Rolling Stone magazine for a recent “hit piece” that explored his ties to right-wing and extremist groups. https://www.facebook.com/thebigsexy5518/posts/10108384843677958 This is the guy that wants the 51st libertarian state.
B-but libertarians are nonviolent! Muh NAP!
GOP member supports the GOP's agenda.
It's not the GOP agenda, it's the fake agenda they use for votes. Their real one is corpocracy where there is no religion but the almighty dollar.
“If they do not yield – kill all males,” the document reads. That totally doesn't have some really fucked implications for women or anything.
So basically the document is a recipe on how to create Gilead. Great. I've a feeling that if Shea ever read A Handmaid's Tale he masturbated and lost interest within the first 50 pages and failed to grasp that it's a feminist dystopia novel and Gilead ultimately collapses after roughly a century. There are no winners in a Christian theocracy except the white men at the top. RIP the hearing of every dog within 10 miles of this asshole.
His beliefs really aren't all that different from ISIS
Shea said in his Facebook Live video that he was not promoting violence with the document and that its contents had been taken out of context. God damn it! My book, "Why I Sincerely Believe That Ethnic And Religious Minorities Should Be Rounded Up And Executed En Masse, Until Only White Christians Remain And Women Are Put Back In Their Place (And The Reasons Why I'm Lying If I Ever Claim This Book To Have Been A Joke)", has been taken completely out of context and blown out of proportion by the media!
"out of context" Dude, in what fuckin' context does "kill all non-believers" sound the least bit sane?
I'm sure Canada would be totally fine bordering a rabid violent Christian theocracy.
this dude looks like if you did that Woll Smoth thing to Ryan Gosling
So realistically how many people read this news and were like "yeah that should be done"
That's because the stuff the Israelites supposedly did in the Old Testament was basically just as bad as the ISIS campaigns. (It's all myths of course - Israelites were just people who split off from the existing population in the ancient middle east, started worshiping a new god they called yahweh, and then fabricated an origin story to justify their new religion.) The kind of radical domionist reconstructionalism this guy clearly embraces ignores virtually the entire New Testament and all of its commands, formulating its belief system solely on the Old Testament, and also Revalations. (You know, the book where the character of Jesus is radically retconed and he suddenly is a mass murderer of all the unbelievers like all the Old Testament "heroes").
this is basically the setting for a handmaids tale (hopefully) without the coup.
I'm not sure what's concerning, that this document came from a four term serving GOP politician, or the fact that everyone in this thread so far has seemingly taken the whole thing in stride very well. What's going on, why is this coming out of a first world country and why is everyone so chill about it?
Yahweh wasn't new, the Israelites just recognized him as their patron god.
ah drat he caught on to the maoist insurgency model we were using to slander him!
Handmaid's tale must be his favorite show to beat off these fantasies to.
Imo christian extremism isn't used enough as a generic boogyman in videogames We had the era of it all about killing nazis, now about virtual Westboro Bapist Church types?
too risky for companies, though killing nazis seems like its also getting too morally grey these days.

I guess he conveniently forgot this verse in the bible, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. —John 13:33-35
I wish more religion was like this.
Even I think this guy is nuts.
only one i can remember in recent memory is like Far Cry 5 There's a lot of horror games with Christian elements and back stories that relate to some denomination of Christianity, but its mostly blended with Cult-like elements or demonic shit.
Probably because most mainstream Christians are not like this dickhead in the OP and only the "cultist" like nuts are the ones that get the headlines.
I think it's less important that he's christian and more that he's a politician (and has been so for a decade now)
Judging by the entire history of Christianity and religion in general, putting "don't be a dick" in your doctrine has rarely actually ever yielded results.
