• US Election Results 2018 - A blue wave in a sea of piss

People NEED to be as hysterical as fucking possible because right now these elections are some of the most important in the history of the entire United States.
Well, on the bright side taking the House means it'll be harder for Trump to pass whatever new bullshit he dreams up
Except by places that know what they're doing like 538 where it was more like 70%, but anyway, calling the race is much more solid than pre-election predictions because predictions are done based on polling and sentiment, but calling a race is done based on hard data about how people have turned out (and isn't done until things are solidly one way)
Honestly if the GOP win anything after what's happened in the last two years I'm going to call shenanigans or blame heavy gerrymandering because it's fucking bullshit. How can any sane human being honestly support most of these asswipes? I don't believe people would willingly vote against their best interests.
And there have already been a few major wins already. Just because Texas fucked up again doesn't mean everything is over. Hell, it was a lot closer then it has been.
I'm fine with thinking it's bullshit and all but temper your thinking with reason, here: Beto was the underdog to begin with. It's not unfair that he didn't win, it's expected, and all there is to do about it is improve things in the future.
If anything serves as a potential glimpse into 2020, it was this race. DeSantis was a brazen racist who largely ran on Trump's platform, and not his own. Gillum as a populist Democrat who ran a strong pro-worker, pro-family campaign.

Yikes.
And it's already improved the future because it was so close. The Senate got rocked, after all, and it needed a big damn purge. The amount of corruption going on down in the Texas Senate by Republicans is literally comedy-show tier with Senators reaching over and hitting other Senators' buzzers during a vote because 'they knew how they would vote' and other such blatant ridiculous bullshit regards voting suppression efforts.
You know what, I'm not entirely ready for a presidential candidate Beto yet (guy has even less political experience than Obama), but the Democratic presidential nominee, whoever it is, should definitely consider picking him as their running mate. He did a hell of a job, even if he ultimately lost, and we really need to see more of him on the public stage in the next few years.
Hell world

North Dakota's marijuana legalization measure failed at roughly 60N to 40Y.
Youd be amazed at the power of fear
CBS is also showing Nelson trailing behind Scott in Florida. Reporter on screen said CNN is reporting Scott receiving a significant number of votes that they can't determine their source.
why are americans so fucking retarded
Hey look, I don't want to sound like I'm down playing it but y'all need to realize Texas isn't going to flip that easily. I always heard the projections for Texas's (inevitable) turn would be in the 2020s. This is a proud conservative state. The fact that Beto was even to make a national name for himself and keep Texas on it's toes is a victory in itself. I know it seems like a loss but it was a long shot to begin with. Ted Cruz and his friends will go to bed thinking "oh shit" tonight because it was a close race in context. I voted for Beto but I wasn't expecting him to win. Republican elites will swallow their champagne down with concern tonight. And that's a victory to me.
I actually worked on one of these graphic machines called Xpression during an election night and it crapped out and went NaN once
If anything, this is just another example of why Gerrymandering is EXTREME bullshit and needs to go.
I legit can't think of a single good reason for anyone to oppose marijuana legalization.
It honestly shouldn't even be expected for the rational guy to lose vs Ted fucking Cruz. Ultimately everybody should be disgruntled given that continued Republican influence in our government is just more years of pollutants to poison our planet. The modern GOP is an existential threat to mankind and I will hoot and holler for that party to crash and burn until it does, or it somehow magically reverts to sane pre-Reagan fiscal conservatism.
I lived in Texas 30 years of my life and, yeah, this is pretty much how it is y'all. Texas is always going to be an uphill fight for now -- you've just got to always be fighting the rural vote and Texas has a ton of land outside the cities.
Sooner or later people will realize that humans are not collectively smart or well-informed, and are easily manipulated and mislead. It's only been this way for uh... All of human history.
It's fun to hover over the snaking, gerrymandered districts on this map. The very foundation of your democracy is smashed into pieces.
Reminder that Republican voters prioritize immigration above just about every other issue when polled.
This has been a problem for the entire existence of the US, the titular Gerry was the governor of Massachusetts in the early 1800s
Fear of people they've never met and never will drives them to vote against their own neighbors. It's a terribly thing what the Republican part has become.
Who would have thought the GOP would lose the legistative body that is proportional to the entire population.
