I care way more about the senate, those elections were far more important. Senator terms are 6 years and stunted, house are 2 years and goes up for reelection every time.
Winning the House is still a big step, plus the odds of winning the Senate were not in the Dems favor.
You gotta take your wins where you can get 'em.
I think ohio is officially a red state, the gop will have controlled redistricting for 30 years now, and we have a right wing trumpette in office now.
fucking southern ohio.
If they think they've faced "hardship" with Trump critics before this is gonna be like Gallipoli.
I wonder what 2020 turnout will be like. Historic?
You crazy bastards did it.
It's a shame with the Senate, but it would have required a miracle to win it. The House is a huge step.
Now do what's right. Make us all proud.
This /pol/ meltdown is hilarious.
Lets hope they don't go out and shoot any places up over this
They're satisfied with a Republican senate and think that a Democrat house means nothing.
So, they're OK with the current situation.
Sweet. Here's hoping that the dems don't shoot themselves in the foot over dumb identity shit like they did in 2016 after this.
I'm sure, but considering all the shit that happened in the weeks leading up to this I can't help but feel a little anxious over what the real nutjobs will do if they think they're losing control.
To an extent, I hope they do. Hopefully it'll just push people further left after seeing how bumfuck stupid the far/mid-right standard is.
Dividing the only opposing party doesn't sound like a great way to fight the Republicans... Unfortunately.
And I bet most americans don't even think about the problematic implications of their two party system.
Dana "The Kremlin Gremlin" Rohrabacher needs provisional/late mail-in ballots to save him. 100% of the vote counted and he's down by more than 2000
And also the whole "You insulted my wife and my family, sec lemme just clean your asshole ok"

Couldn't wait to see, what good ol' Ben prepared for us. Expected more tears (and labeling).
The way to fight republicans is to kill off the lack of accountability in politics and mass media + social media, hugely increase educational standards with a focus on critical reading skills.
Let's not forget how the 2012 Texas Republican party platform LITERALLY,
had as a fucking POLICY, accepted by a party convention,
their opposition to "higher order thinking skills"
Knowledge-Based Education – We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.
Here's the thing though, none of that is going to ever happen. Americans are going to keep getting dumber and dumber on average, less and less critical of where their beliefs actually come from, and their politicians more and more radical and xenophobic.
I mean come the fuck on, estimated 35% of Americans (Mostly people who would be impacted more by an ACA repeal) don't know that the Affordable Care Act and Obamacare are the same goddamn thing.
Democracy does not work without an educated populace, by definition.
Notice how the creature doesn't have "women's rights"
These tears are delicious

Hey, congrats, you guys actually have a real opposition now. I would die for that.
