• Trump Praises Pelosi, Calls for Bipartisanship After GOP House Loss

There's nothing wrong with the Democrats offering Republicans the ability to compromise as long as the Democrats are quick and decisive about when they need to walk away from the table and use their majority power. The Democrats should compromise with Republicans if it's in the interests of the country. It usually isn't (it's the Republicans) but a good policy coming from a Republican is still a good policy.
Republicans should compromise with democrats, not the other way round
Do you know what Compromise means?
Not even Bismuth is this edgy.
Reminder - just because she says it on the papers doesn't mean it's gonna happen. ( aka politics ) The bard can be really good at speech and he can also beat the shit out of you with his lute.
Compromise is when you give the Republicans 98% of what they want, and after bragging about how much they got they proceed to obstruct Congress to a historical degree, hypocritically justifying keeping the Supreme Court without a justice for almost a year only to turn around and force through nominees when their President wins.
I cannot believe how many negative ratings this post has received. What is wrong with you people? Compromise is the natural state of politics all over the world Did the latter half of the Obama presidency teach you nothing? Have you just become so used to gridlock that you are incapable of accepting anything else?
I've had enough of this both sides are equally bad bullshit. Call me when the democrats are locking away white male crhistians and then we'll talk
Oh yeah, sure, why not. Let's compromise on such issues as *checks notes* -locking and separating immigrant families indefinitely -erasing trans people from the existence by passing a law that says your gender is akin to your sex -repealing laws that are supposed to protect the environment and humanity's future -slashing the budgets for welfare programs while increasing the already bloated military budget -pulling out of numerous pacts that were to ensure cooperation on widely recognised issues -slashing taxes for the rich -scaling back every possible bill that was supposed to stop 2008 crisis from happening again -pointless trade wars with our allies and probably metric fuck ton more that I don't recall atm. Clearly everything here is something both sides could find common ground and not toss it into a trash can and set it on fire how it should be done.
The Democrates, historically, are fucking cowards. I
Compromise is when I get everything I want
The ironic thing is that if would-be mail bombers targeted shitheads like Pelosi the party would be better off in the long run. There's a cancer in US politics on both sides that needs cutting out.
Holy fuck that Pelosi headline. Fuck liberals.
Look Pelosi is not dumb and this is just politician talk. Democrats won't compromise on things that don't benefit them.
Just gonna repost what I said right above you because it's applicable to what you are describing here.
Without context sure, you can claim this But in context? You're god damn off your rocker if you think this. The republicans, Mitch McConnel, aimed at turning Obama into a one term president. They failed, so they obstructed them on everything. So, what you're saying is "YOU SHOULD REWARD THE REPUBLICANS, WHO PUNISHED THE DEMOCRATS BY BEING OBSTRUCTIONIST, BY COMPROMISING YOUR VALUES". Fuck this shit. Fuck that noise. Be realistic. Be honest. Be reasonable.
You can also provide further context by pointing out that the Republican's reward for essentially stopping Congress from 2012 to 2017 was that they captured the House, the Senate, and the Presidency.
I may be absolutely insane, but I am being as honest as I can, and I implore you do not misread me. I do not want a repeat of the latter half of the Obama presidency. Two wrongs do not make a right. The only way we can have a productive and functioning government is if both sides are able to put aside the pettiest of their conflicts to pass core legislative items, like the budget.
I understand that. but you're being unrealistic. The elected republicans do not want to compromise. They want THEIR AGENDA PASSED AS IT IS, NO CHANGES. It's as simple as that. They want what they want, they will not compromise on any of the things they want. Imploring the democrats to be the adults in the room so the republicans can continue to obstruct without punishment from their fucking voters, like yourself, is just purely partisan horseshit that only benefits one party.
I have never in my life voted for any Republican congressmen. Do not misread me.
I'll take you at your word for that My points still stand. You cannot reward an obstructionist group with the compromise they refused to give, in hopes of having bipartisan compromise. To do this, is to ignore the very basics of what is commonly known as "Game theory", and this essentially just hands your opponent an effortless victory. Can we accept this?
The opposition to Trump and the GOP does not come down to pettiness and if you truly think that you are a enormous fool.
Humanity was a mistake. A rather egregious one at that. That's kinda the issue though. Reublicans have tried to do some decent things in the past. Trump's GOP, however, really hasn't. The reason it's getting negative ratings is the Republicans are looking like total fucking hypocrites in this instance and Pelosi is making the Democrats look totally toothless. The Democrats spent all of Obama's presidency trying to compromise with the Republicans even when they had the majority. It blew up in their face. Maybe people don't want that to happen again? You know. People learning the first time that the fire is hot and not being dumb enough to stick their hand in a second time to make sure. You come across as 100% completely and utterly disingenuous considering your history. If you were being earnest you'd actually acknowledge the problem with compromising with an opposing party who is dead set on doing nothing but objectively awful shit. Under your logic if one party wanted to genocide some group and the other side didn't then the only option is to meet in the middle and genocide half the group instead. Which is still an objectively garbage decision and the entire flaw with what you are saying. Obviously the GOP isn't actively trying to genocide people. But the things they are doing are still completely objectively awful. They screw over the poor and minorities for the benefit of the rich and white. Compromising on shit like that is just screwing over the poor and minorities a bit less. Compromising on climate change means doing too little to actually combat the effects rather than doing everything necessary (if Dems were to have their way and not give in to corporate influences) or denying it's even a problem like the White House and many GOP Congressmen are currently doing. Oh and don't forget the constant attacks on basically the very foundations our country was founded on. Constant attacks on the concept of freedom of speech despite their claims of supporting it (a direct attack on our constitution), trying to overturn parts of the constitution, blatant corruption in cases like Kemp, blatant attempts at obstruction of justice in Trump's case, so on and so forth. You're not an idiot so quit playing stupid. You know exactly what the issues are. So either man up and admit you just don't care or accept that you're simply wrong.
