Critics pile on after Trump cancels visit to Aisne Marne American Cemetery

light rains for a few hours, that's it.
A long relationship that many French people over the years have cherished, and he just shits on it.
I mean, after WWI you have French churches putting in stained glass windows like these

American-French cooperation meant a lot to a lot of people.
Had no idea about theses windows and they're awesome, thanks for sharing them
And we can even go back to La Fayette and the french help in the independance war. It's a long history of alliance.
When Charles De Gaulle ordered all American troops out of France in 1966, Lyndon Johnson asked him "What about the dead ones?"
Yeah, I didn’t know about them either until fairly recently. Franco-American relations haven’t always been good, but the bad times shouldn’t put us off from cooperating now, and paying respect to the long history of cooperation.
"ho hm yes I agree in my opinion that he should not have done that, that's correct, you're right, there
...But he's still the best president we've had in a long time"
So this morning I overheard a conversation between 3 elderly vets, one of them being a Democrat.
They all more or less agree that Trump not visiting the cemetery was bad, one of the others says something about Bill Clinton not supporting the troops, and then "We all know how Obama feels about the troops". The third one chimes in about how he thanks god every day that Hillary isn't president, and that if she was she'd have sold Alaska back to Russia [?????].
So they'll just deflect it to be about how the democrat presidents didn't like the troops more and Hillary would have sold Alaska to the Russians, or something equally asinine.
I can't wait for the inevitable tweet claiming he really visited and paid respects harder and better than anyone ever did, claims otherwise are fake news from the DEMS AND SINISTER MEDIA.
My great grandfather served in 4 offensives in WW1, according to his shadow box. Aisne, Aisne-Marne, and Meuse-Argonne. Last one is Defensive Sector, where he was gassed at Château-Thierry. He was told he had a few months to live, but lived well into the 1970s.
He would have been eligible for 3 purple hearts, though he doesn't have them. One for the gas, one for shrapnel after throwing a grenade back at the Germans only for it to explode mid-air, and one from a concussion after getting caught in an artillery strike and getting blasted 6 feet in the air. He refused to be promoted because he did not want to bear the responsibility of losing men under his command.
Frankly, I can't blame him for that. After researching his unit, my folks and I found out his unit suffered over 100% casualties over the course of the war. Not surprising he never really talked about it.
Point is, Trump's a fat pussy for letting a little bit of rain get in the way. Rain is nothing but a wee bit of wet.
Trump has no concept of sacrifice. He has literally never made a decision in which his personal gain was the first priority. He sure as shit doesn't put this country or the people who fucking died for it ahead of himself and the money he could be making.
What else did you expect from a spoiler manchild who has always had everything served up to him on a golden platter?
That's basically par for the course for Trump. Shit all over one of the most valued and valuable foreign relationships our nation has.
Knowing Trump, he probably looks down on those who have made those sacrifices. At this point I'd honestly be more surprised to find out that that's not the case with how consistently he is the most irredeemable shit stain possible.
Honestly, to echo above poster, I'm expecting "I like the troops that didn't die, ok" or something along those lines.
This makes it better. Shows he did it on his own accord and not to spite Trump.

So he is now blaming the Secret Service

We now have the Dubya version of Jeb!'s world domination pose
I wouldn't say blaming, the secret service is entrusted with guarding the life of the actual president of the united states and if inclement weather means a grounded helicopter then the president can't go
What an absolute titty-baby.
How the fuck did everyone else manage to get there? Too fucking proud to car-pool?
Still a terrible excuse. French police emptied the streets of any vehicules so his motorcade could drive anywhere they wanted. Half a capital city's transportation was frozen so he could go around. And other presidents made it when it was raining way harder.
I'm sure he did it to stick it to Macron, and his dumb ass didnt expect the blowback.
It's 1000000% bullshit. Literally every other country leader was present, and the rest of the fucking US delegation. The orange fuckmuppet is lying through his teeth.
Have you considered that he is lying about the secret service
If only they had some sort of armored limousine...
