Economic migrants are refugees

Asylum seekers/refugees, fear of persecution on the basis of race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership of a particular social group. However economic migrants are simply people searching for more opportunity or who want a better standard of life. I feel mixing the two can have some serious ramifications for the legitimate asylum seekers.

Poor living conditions, are still living conditions, they are just not at our levels. Starvation and poverty, we handle as much as we can via our aid agencies. However, with these people added in, you could easily be sitting around 3 billion people, thats refugees/asylum seekers, extreme poverty and poverty. Sorry mate, we aren't even going to dent that figure by letting them in, so how about we save the ones running from war or persecution and let our aid agencies try and help the rest.

Independent countries should have their borders secured and have strict controls set up for people crossing it, we can't live like it's an damn park where everyone can walk through.

these countries have signed a deal with other european countries some countries cannot in fact turn migrants away lest they get left at sea to die (italy, spain, greece) these countries are unwilling to help the other nations, but making sure they cash in them sweet billions that come from these other nations

If we aren't pragmatic about who can come here, then the public will eventually demand no one comes here. Taking poor people from those nations will literally not make any difference on that country, even we all of the West took in people, all we'd end up doing is wasting money because those countries would continue to increase in population and make the situation even more dire. Nothing says deterrence like bullets.
