Half of America participated in that election. Trump lost by millions in the popular vote. Of the half which voted in America, less than half voted for Trump. You are arguing that 25~% of America was able to elect a President we all hate. That is accurate. He is doing a damn fine job of convincing the other 50% of America that was eligible to vote to show up this time around.

Again? Yes. If the election process was purely a popularity contest based on numbers rather then states then trump would have lost. But when both sides were campaigning, they weren't campaigning for numbers, they were campaigning for states. If it was purely a popular vote, both sides would have then campaigned differently. Here's an analogy. We're playing basketball right? And you happen to shoot more points. Good game, yeah? But then I come along and say "Nah hah hah! My net was actually on the other side of the field so you lost, loser!" The states that made Trump win were fly-over states that the democrat party wrote off as "hicks who don't matter".

Here's another analogy. You are stating that 'the team that yelled the loudest won'. The stadium was half-full and half of the half-full stadium was yelling loudly. Of that half of the half-full stadium, maybe half were truly convinced the game should be awarded to Team Blue rather than Team Red where the other half just wanted Team Red to lose - regardless of the fact that Team Blue was Team Red's opposition. This may very well make the stadium very full the next time we have a game. Of that half of a half of a half - you are expecting that those voices should be considered 'a silent majority'? If not, then you must admit that those states will be awarded to whoever Trump is not so long as Hillary is not running - which it is looking to be very unlikely.
