The rioting isn't an intended effect of it, nor would rioting be intended for any demonstration or protest where there was rioting where rioting was not the point of the demonstration/protest. You're conflating things to make them conveniently dismissable. A fascist would wait for the excuse to send in the national guard. This fascist openly is baiting that this is exactly what they are waiting for. The only thing keeping that saber in its sheathe is the worry from said fascist that when they say 'go' they will find themselves without allies or power enough to keep them in their seat. That discomfort is exactly what those antifa demonstrations aim to achieve -- to make fascists uncomfortable; to show that in the event of fascism there will be people on the streets to fight it.

The point of violence is that it basically screams "It's not gonna be easy, assholes." We know that such tactics work because we were on the brink of genocide in Vietnam, herbicides were used to take out sources of food, and we even manipulated the weather to wash out dirt roads to stop supply trucks from being able to carry food. The genocide was prevented not only due to large scale protests, but by vicious campaigns of violence which spanned from bombing planes being repaired in North America, to straight up bombing the fucking pentagon. I'd say that they're not doing enough, really. We've got children in cages and the most they're doing is knocking over a few trash cans.
